    Hi! Questions regarding controller setup

I just got to 50 with my white mage and I'm looking for tips from others on how you have your bars set up. Any help would be appreciated.

Also another question: I dumped all my bonus trait points into mind. Was wondering if maybe some others choose maybe 25mnd/5pie or 20mnd/10 pie?

    Thanks.

I put all my stats into mnd. No questions asked.

Controller. I have the first bar with all my buffs, rez, and dmg skills on it. Second bar is where all my heals are. I need to get a screen shot of it, but my set up requires a bit of bar switching and muscle memory.

You should have a majority of your points in MND, I would recommend either full MND or having some VIT. I am personally 20 MND/10 VIT and doing fine so far.

I would recommend putting all your most used skills, or stuff that would need to be used immediately, on the first bar since you will typically want to spend a majority of your time there. Play around with the layout and try to figure out a layout that is intuitive for you.

I only have a screen of my first bar but this is what it looks like for me.

Face buttons are my "main" skills, D-pad is typically buffs and debuffs. Cleric stance and Divine Seal are both on Triangle as they are both "boosting" stances, I just swap between L or R depending on if I intend to nuke or heal.

On my 2nd bar, I have Medica and Medica II where Cure and Cure II are so I just have to hit R1 if I want to AOE.

If you are on PC I highly recommend making a bar like the one in my picture in the blue outline. Put any long-cooldown skills there (Benediction, Swiftcast, and Shroud of Saints in my case - I have since added Eye for an Eye) that way you can keep an eye on their recast times without having to be on your second bar.

Really though, how you setup your bars will mostly be up to you. I would recommend doing a dungeon after messing with your bars to see how it works in action. As Itchyness said, a lot of it will come down to muscle memory. I have similar layouts on all my jobs for consistency and I never have to look at the bar anymore except when watching for Bloodletter triggers on BRD.

My first bar is my "solo" bar; less healing, more damaging. Has Holy, Rez, Cleric Stance, Swiftcast, Ballad Request macro, Stone 1/2, Aero 1/2, and some healing just in case, or if I don't feel like switching bars. (The Repose and FA are not macros on this bar)

Second bar is for parties; Protect, Stoneskin, Presence, Shroud, Seal, Medica 1/2, Benediction, Cure 1/2 (don't even have 3 on any bar), Regen, Repose, a Fluid Aura macro (marks to ignore, chains into repose), and <tt> Stone 2 and Aero

I do need to switch bars to use CS, Holy and Swiftcast, but its not an issue really most of the time.
