Why Monday?

You know SE... on Mondays like you know right when you reset the cap and Bahamut's Coil.

Many groups are eager to farm out their Mythology cap to get their cool new piece of gear... Or make their runs through Coil and open their boxes...

This is the 2nd week in a row that there has been maintenance on Monday night.

Now I don't suggest weekend maintenance at all but um... later in the week when people are already capped, or have finished up their coil routine for the week... Might be a better time.

This is non-sensical, how can you justify having maintenance on the weekend when its prime time, or for that matter on any other day than mon and weds. I do my coil runs on friday, I do my AK runs on tuesday. Guess what I do on mondays? Nothing. My point is, it doesnt matter when you run maintenance because there will always be somebody sitting aroun dto complain about it, so just live with it and plan accordingly.

I agree people tend to complain about maintenances.

However, that being said…

…never have I seen so many maintenances for a post-2010 AAA MMO 3 months into release. There must be some serious database/server issues, a pile of bugs, and/or a very weak underlying design, for the game to require so many maintenances. It's just subpar to industry standards as we speak, and that's something seasoned MMO players know.

Bad track record (for SE) + touchy subject (for players) = huge uproar.

And to some degree, I agree with people asking for at least standard service quality.

Since those doing the content you're talking about are a minority of players (and a small one at that, going from SE's own figures) then I see no reason to consider their needs above the majority's.

I hope your clowning on the fact that they already do this. Friday morning is when they do the scheduled weekly maintenance (Friday....Really?) They just have it every other day too.

Unfortunately, im on the West Coast of the US, so the maintenance screws with me every time. Not saying they should change that for just the few timezones that are affected, but a rotating schedule of different times would be ideal, since it would screw with everyone equally instead of just screwing one group over and over.

I live on the west coast as well and most maintenances don't affect me one bit. In fact I'm usually heading off to bed after they're due to happen. I'm pretty sure SE has some kind of tracking metric on when the most people are playing to make their decisions on when they schedule their maintenances. You (speaking of the minority in general) just happen to be the odd one out.
