i have played a tank since WOW:BC, rift, tera, neverwinter and the list go on. i started as a bard first and now im rolling a tank this time and FFXIV has several targeting icons including the ABC's and 123's but not many people know then. these people need to go back to grade school and learn the basics before they learn to play a simply game.

Counting is easy, ask any dps in any group I've been in.

@Drake; even though I mark targets I occasionally get the one dps that wants to tank so bad that he targets another one then grabs hate so I figured I'm a nice guy so I'll let him have it. Also lately with more people becoming ilvl 70+ I'm running into more df parties that aoe the mobs which is cool idm. I can always adjust.

starting from lvl 17, i leveled my PLD by almost exclusively doing dungeons, and this is what I've learned.

Up until sunken temple, most dps will ignore marks because either (a) they don't know any better, or (b) they are just bored due to the fact that dungeons are easy. This was also around the time that I just made a macro that says "please follow mark." and I really havn't had problem since.
