I'd say to follow Urthdigger's advice and go back to your guild to make sure you don't have any class quests waiting for you. These are very important and some will unlock new abilities.

Keep an eye out for the main storyline quests, the quests with a fiery outline. They are extremely important for unlocks and should be your number one priority.

The official FF14 site also has a quest database that I have found pretty useful for picking up random quests I missed, so you might want to take a look.

Hope that helps and welcome to the realm!
yes the recomendations....finally found that when I died and rezzed in LL, didnt know about it so thanks....thats the bad part of being a noob, the stuff ya miss cause ya dont know about it.

certain quests will give various items, gil, armour/weapons, potions, etc. Also what are called Allagan Pieces which are usually worth from 25 to 500 gil which i take the 500 gil ones instead of armour or weapons as you do get a choice of a secondary reward. I do highly suggest however once you unlock other classes to not take them all on at once like i am doing, now i have way too much to do, lol
Since you are a Maurader also note that when you reach level 30 you will most likely want the Gladiator class leveled up to 15 so you can then become a Warrior
which in essence is a evolved version of the Maurader

You just sell the allagan pieces to NPCs.

You unlock your mount after level 20, you have to progress in the storyline to unlock them.

They will be in your inventory and look like yellow bags. Just sell them to any npc store to get the money.

Like Estellios said, mount comes from the main storyline at level 20. You won't get to train your chocobo until level 30 and completing this quest: http://ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/My...Little_Chocobo

From there, you train the chocobo by using greens to summon him and killing monsters while he's out.

Did you do your Marauder class quest every 5 levels? If not you should go to the Coral Tower for these, in Limsa Lominsa, up in lift like at the start of the game, and run through the big room and keep going in a straight line until you can't go any further, that's Coral Tower.

Also a lot of your questions would be answered if you read the help windows. You can access these again to read through and help your understanding. A button on the main menu bar. I also use google search a lot, just prefixing my search with ffxiv to get info specific to this game.

Have you unlocked your Hunting log? Press H on the keyboard or there's a button on the main menu for it. This gives you a list of mobs to kill for extra xp. Completing it also helps lead you to new areas. (if you don't have it yet you need to do the class quest to unlock it)

When looking for things in your inventory there are several tabs. If you have it set to autosort several of these tabs are used automatically so simply click on each one to look through.

    Map link:

Choose your starter area map and click to zoom in. The arrows show where each zone change takes you. It's marked with what level mobs are in the areas and also what can be gathered once you unlock your gathering classes.

i know this is somewhat off topic, and doesnt help with ur original question (since i noticed there is a decent guide posted and others answered ur questions) but as a new person, you shouldnt use the word noob

    Defining 'Noob'
Contrary to the belief of many, a noob/n00b and a newbie/newb are not the same thing. Newbs are those who are new to some task* and are very beginner at it, possibly a little overconfident about it, but they are willing to learn and fix their errors to move out of that stage. n00bs, on the other hand, know little and have no will to learn any more. They expect people to do the work for them and then expect to get praised about it, and make up a unique species of their own. It is the latter we will study in this guide so that the reader is prepared to encounter them in the wild if needed.

That's all true, but people tend to use them interchangeably these days. I call myself a noob often when I'm really not a noob or really even a newb. I use it to mean I'm not a hardcore player.

Noob Question: For the Winsome Quest

The first chapter of the lightning quest is confusing to me. It asks me to provide to Petyr Winsome proof of the monster culling operations taking place in two locations: Three-malm Bend in middle La Noscea and Quarterstone in western La Noscea. WEll I went to those two locations and found nothing. I don't what I'm missing and it's probably something simple but what do I have to do to complete this quest?
