Players with WAR and PLD at 50

I'm still new to the game. I have 50WAR with Bravura a few DL pieces and 600 Myth tomes. My plan was to finish lvling PLD (34atm) then dump my Myth tomes into it since it is the "safer" of the 2 tanks. Safer tanks tend to accomplish new content first until strategies are refined.

Would it make sense to have an endgame tank PLD (VIT 30/30, Valor, Relic+1) for Titan/Coil and then have a midgame tank WAR (STR 30/30, some DD accessories) for AK/WP lvl content?

Keep in mind that 2.1 is coming "soon" and is supposed to bring with it WAR buffs to be able to match the PLD in coil. You may want to wait and see how that shakes out before spending all your tomes.

Exactly what I am doing, I am holding on to all my Phil and Myth to see what happens. If the buff isn't that great then I will just finish my PLD with lots of DL gear and us my Myth to +1 the sword/shield. I have a few AF2 and DL pieces and I can do a SR in WP pretty easily with good healer. I guess we just play the wait and see game.

Personally I went with war over my pld. Once you hit 7k its really not so bad in terms of tanking. I even tanked ADS T2 with 7 stacks (not recommended, getting hit 2-4k at a time) but war is good just not as "good" as pld in terms of making it easier on healers.

Keep in mind your darklight set is interchangable between your War and Pld. So there is no need to save up your philosophy tomestones.

You can, however, hold off on spending your myth tomestones. Especially you still got a few weeks before you can actually cap the 2,000 myth points lol. But if you really need to spend it when the time comes due to cap, you can spend it on myth rings/accessories or belt (as they are also interchangable). However, you should have an idea what you would like to buy at that time (roughly 4-5 weeks from now until you get the 2k cap).

Might as well get the myth ring and bracelet, can be used on both tanks and you won't be seeing the bracelet till turn 4.

yeah but I already have some AF2 for my WAR and buying the DL equivalents wouldn't make much sense to be honest. As much as I hate to say it, I got a feeling I will be going the PLD route, just makes me nervous them not saying ANYTHING about the upcoming WAR changes. I am just hoarding tomes right now and hoping the buff for WAR's is substantial.

I too started with 50 WAR. Not long before I rolled a PLD. I saved my 900 myth for the +1 Curtana/Shield. Now I have AF2/Allagan stuff on my PLD and I'm always in demand for all content. You will feel invincible as a 50 PLD after playing your WAR. Rerolling PLD was the smartest thing I did and I've never looked back.

Well, you can invest in the War if that is the case. Since you will have a higher chance of getting into coil with your Pld to get the allegan gear. Leaving myth gear for your War as compensation :P

I bought the Darklight set for my PLD (except the tin can bodysuit) and use it for WAR.
The only Valor stuff I've bought so far is the PLD body and I picked up a Heros Ring early-on, but I'm getting the Curtana +1 this week.
I'm not spending any Myth on WAR until I see the 2.1 changes, and even then I'm likely to stay with PLD.

Heros Accessories and Allagan Armor can be used for both Tank jobs, so as you progress through Coil you'll get gear that can be cross-classed anyway.
