Seems like another complaining for my class thread. What is this oh so great utility and flexibility that scholars have? No one uses Selene in a serious fight (though maybe I should try) and any defense buffs are more than made up for by white mage's superior heals. Fact: Regen > any little shield a scholar can throw out. The only advantages a scholar have is that they have less MP and aggro issues, which can be easily made up for by not being a retard. I still laugh at the people who claim scholar have more aoe damage than a white mage. The only thing that I can say to be a definitive advantage is Lustrate, because its instant.
WOW lol. You definately don't play healer or not done top end content with it.
Regen is more comparable to sch fairy embrace. You use regen/fairy on raid/tank for mp efficient healing. Shields are used to mitigate damage. Turning potentially one/two shots in to manageable hits.

I think this post gave me cancer.

No offense but you really don't have any idea what you are talking about
A adlo crit with double shield on Caduceus - yes please.
A sch on warrior tank with lustrate healing in % and not flat hp - yes please
Selene is a great fairy to use in serious fights which are more of a dps check. Especially if you have a WHM to heal with (which you should have at all times anyway in heroic/raid content).
I play both WHM and SCH at current lvl 50 content and both are very capable and great at what they do.
Just stop with the A is better than B.
A Regen will regenerate some tiny health that's gone.
A SCH's shield will negate that damage entirely.
They both seem on par to me. Like Sharaziss said, I think it's more comparable to the Fairy's regen... But anyone have any details on the fairy regen? xivdb.com doesn't really have any pet details, that I can find.

What kind of details? Embrace is 300 potency roughly every 3 seconds if spammed as often as possible, Whispering Dawn is the group regeneration effect with 100 potency every 3 seconds, lasting 21 seconds (total 700 potency), assuming that's what you're asking for.
Though keep in mind that the Faerie has somewhat lower stats than the Scholar itself, so their numbers will overall be lower if you attempt direct comparisons between Scholar and Faerie, using their potency numbers.

Someone on Reddit cleared it up though.
I'm both a WHM and a SCH, so after a quick comparison here's what I found:
Unbuffed Pet: ~200 per tick
Unbuffed WHM: ~230 per tick
Buffed Pet (Rouse-Only): ~280
Buffed WHM (Seal Only): ~300
The above has the WHM with about 11 less MND, but 30 more det. However, even dropping to garuda's book on SCH (drastic drop in mind, weapon damage and det, leaving them obviously behind WHM) the pet it still doing 180 unbuffed. This means that, both buffed and unbuffed, the WHM currently beats out Eos on per-tick healing, though not dramatically. The diff is a bit bigger in a 4-man since SCH gets no MND buff from team without a WHM present, but that diff wouldn't me more than a few points. Biggest diff is about 30% right now given remotely comparable gear, which is a bit smaller than you would expect if the main-and-mend trait was ignored (they total 40%). Likely, the trait is taken into account but the pet is given some flat debuff in the 25% range.
The above means that post-patch will look as follows:
Unbuffed Pet: ~200 per tick
Unbuffed WHM: ~115 per tick
Buffed Pet (Rouse Only): ~280
Buffed WHM (Seal Only): ~150
Clearly the per-tick benefit goes notably in Eos' favor post-patch, though the total number of ticks is clearly in the WHM's favor.
The fact that Medica II can be cast whenever is probably balanced by being able to cast Whispering Dawn without defocusing tank and the fact it costs no MP.

A: "Oh my gosh, fish is so good and tasty! Not some nasty chips!"
B: "Oh my gawd, chips are really awesome! Not some shitty fish!"
C: "Have you ever tried fish AND chips?"

^^^^^^^^ wut?
