I'm talking about what happened to lightning before ending up in eorzea, not after it, there was dlc related to her in xiii-2. Something made the dev team insist that this would make sense in the lore pertaining to the void. You don't like it, fine, but going around saying "It's a trick! Pay no attention to the lightning! They want you to buy it!" Isn't as interesting.

I didn't play FFXIII-2 but from what i heard.

She became the angel of death to get the souls of everyone in FFXIII universe and save them from the Chaos Sea and the Chaos creature so that they can be reborn in a new world, because the godess of time died and so her god has send her here to train so that she is ready for the last 13 days of her world ( FFXIII-3 ) ( I want an alternate ending where they are reborn in Eorzea now! )

It's a shameless promotion of the new game

Everyone knows its a promotion for the new game. So what? That doesn't mean that what they did with it wasn't the least bit interesting. They weren't like trying to hide it or anything.

I don't know about you guys, but when Lightning talked about how beautiful Gridania was, and how her companions would've loved it there, I couldn't help but feel a bit sad.

I also enjoyed this moment briefly, as well as the nostalgia of hearing the FFXIII theme during the FATE fight. But it's all kind of shattered by how little sense it all makes. Lightning is barely even acting in character, first of all. Secondly, "when" exactly is Lightning supposed to be in Eorzea? Is it actually between XIII-2 and LR? I think she would be a little more freaked out about how her world ended and everyone else is probably dead. The only way to understand this event is to accept it as a commercial and ignore everything else.

I'm pretty sure plenty of time and effort went into making this event...

Actually it feels more like someone threw the entire thing together in a day. And part of me really hopes that was the case considering so far in phase 3 there has been about 4 minutes of content that didn't involve camping.

Simple, at the end of ff13-2 she put herself in crystal stasis so someone would remember serahs sacrifice to save the world. Since she went "to sleep" alittle before everything went kablowie she has no idea that etro is dead.

So it COULD easily be in between lightning returns and ff13-2.

I love it. Lightning is one of my favorite characters. I wish and hope that we get more events like this for other FF hero cameos. It doesn't have to be cannon. It's just fun to get your final fantasy character with heroes from the other games.

I'd be happy with Squall showing the Garleans how a gunblade should be used. (I dunno, something inside me just wants to see an HD version of his Limit Breaks.)

or maybe the other way, since Squall's revolver can't actually fire bullets rofl
