FFXIV causing PC to restart.

My PC keeps restarting while playing FFXIV and it is strictly happening only when playing this game.

I have system automatically restart on failure clicked off but it still keeps happening.

I've been playing since beta and this has only started happening in the last couple days. I just had 2 restarts during boss fights in Aurum Vale, as if it couldn't get more frustrating. Yesterday it was happening after finishing up a fate in Bluefog 3 separate times.

I've updated everything, checked for viruses and researched on finding a solution and can't seem to find a fix. I cleaned the inside of my PC, got rid of all the dust and checked for overheating... running at 40-45 degrees.

I'm at a loss what to do next so any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm having a similar problem, had the problem during the beta and benchmark, replaced PSU now I can do a benchmark without crashing. Trying the full version of FFXIV now and still restarting after about 15-20 minutes. No errors, no BSOD, automatic restart turned off as well but it doesn't stop the computer from restarting.

Does not do this to any other game except FFXIV.

Hey,

I'm having the same issue. PC reboots a few seconds after pressing Play in the launcher. Everything else works great. Running Windows 8 64-bit. I'm going to try out the solution in this thread as soon as I get home.

Update: Couldn't find the updates, probably 'cause I'm running Windows 8 not 8.1, so I restored my computer from the 13th Nov to get rid of the latest updates. Didn't help unfortunately...

I'm using windows 7, so not sure this is the same problem. Also I can run the game fine until I get to a boss fight or finishing a fate then I get the restart.

Did some more searching can't find any info on it.

Ok, I can't even start the game without whole computer rebooting.. I guess we'll just have to kick back our feet and wait for a patch.
