That is mainly because the "standard" has increased..

It is pretty much the "norm" now, to have a relic +1 and DL as a minimum.. 3 months of working on this very content for most people raises the "minimum" bar...
Watch, next patch, people will be shouting for "relic +1 and CT gear only" when shouting for coil PUGs..

The bar will keep raising, as content keeps getting released.. This is pretty standard behavior.


Also a lot of the shouts are quite realistic... I mean you really should be in full DL or at least AK gear to be taking on Titan to complete your i80 weapon.
Progression tier is AF > WP > AK > DL/Primal weap > Relic/CT armor > Relic+1/Coil...

Should be in at least full gear of the tier below to do that really.. I think the current shouts are pretty realistic.
