eh. his claim was 'most people did not reach lvl 50 on even one class' and you want him to provide a graphics only with people who reached lvl 50 with at least one class to further prove his point? uhm... eh... not sure if serious.Actually, this picture quite obviously devalues that opinion greatly. Look on the bottom right. This means that most of this are people havn't bothered leveling any other subjobs. Show me a graph with people with at least 1 50 compared to none and you might have something.
edit:
then again the 'professional' statistics nerd (I do stuff like this 'hardcore') in me kind of wants to point out these graphics are a little too 'general' for the discussion at hand. what this DOES prove though is that the vast majority isn't nowhere near maxing out all classes and problaby really doesn't have a single class at max level.
however, it doesn't consider the people who only play one class. which is of course a legitimate way to play the game.
as I've pointed out numberous times, I DO think that it's people's 'right' to be bored if they don't consider the other options the game has to offer fun. I don't blame people for leveling with fates so they have more options at 'end game'. I don't blame them for being annoyed at not having any quests for extra classes. I don't blame them for hating to grind tomes.
I do blame them for claiming there IS nothing to do, though, and I do blame them for claiming they are the MAJORITY when they are clearly not.
ps: I am still glad about 'these people', of course. it means when I finally reach 'end game' in about 3-4 months I'll have tons to do! (and that isn't even considering how I will be way too busy with housing stuff all day long and probably quite enjoy myself lagging like hell and being gangr* in pvp. such is the life of a healer, after all)
edit2:
absolutely agreed on this one. the 'progression' at 'end game' right now is a little of the not-so-varied kind. which is part of the reason why I'm taking it slow (well, that and elitist douchebags but I've made enough friends to hopefully not having to mind those)The main issue imo is they fucked up the game with the "tokens" system, forgetting completely the drops from dungeons and making them not rewarding enough to ever do them again anymore...like Castrum, Praetorium or even AK. They should have made all dungeons drop a few pieces of DL instead, or make different tokens for each dungeon therefor people would not farm "the fastest dungeon", aka, WP right now.
Also, speed runs don't really help to the very little content the game has because anyone can gear up a character with full DL+ relic in a matter of a few days (if being casual).
The fates system doesn't help much either, because after your second or third class you're already bored of doing fates, and it's pretty much the only way to level up.
afaik kill chaining is still a quite valid way to level up in this game, but nobody does it. it would be a bit more of a 'variety', at least.
I personally hope that pvp will be used as a means to level up, too, so there is a bit more variety. the fates system is the main reason I'm not interested in leveling right now and just working on doh/dol right now.
I do hope the 'dungeon exp' push we get with 2.1 will help a little in this, though, because I simply love running dungeons. but I do it every day on my whm and even though I'm lvl 37 or something on that class and usually only do the last 3 dungeons before that, the xp are definitely not the reason why I do so... I might as well ignore them completely

You know what else is a real statistic? The majority of players don't know they have to purchase a WoW expac until they hit a cap and a message tells them, you must purchase "x" to continue. These are the guys you wanted with the whole amusement park set up and these are the guys you will most certainly get.
you meet 'these' in every MMO. not sure how exactly this is a WoW-thing. care to explain? (I also think claiming this is a 'real statistic' is highly hilarious. I don't remember ever reading anything on this and like I said, I do this on a professional level. and yes, I'm talking about gaming statistics)You know what else is a real statistic? Gary Gannon passed it off as a real statistic on Gamebreaker. Gary Gannon wouldn't lie, would he? Unless he's really Gary Ganon, and a villain bent on taking over the world with the Triforce of Power.
I have been playing every single day and only got a cooking class to 50 so far. I'm not even trying to take it slow but damn some people are just faster than the rest.
I hope you guys get more endgame as fast as possible but after that i hope that they add more overall quest-lines for mid-game. Individual quests are nice but the ones that have a continuing story are few and far between. I've never been too into endgame of any MMO so far but I hope SE can satisfy those who think it's the only worthwhile activity. Nevertheless there's SO much other things to do in this game. I know it's silly but the logs and the achievements in this game seem really well designed (except that one that has you doing leves for 5 years).
Player
Level 50 is NOT the goal for some of us :]. Some people don't need to have anything to show for the time they've played.. other than the fact that they've been having fun.1. They didn't say they were playing the game incorrectly.
2. Leveling was much slower in 1.0
3. Really? Are you even playing the game? You barely have to do anything to gain levels on the first run through. Having at least, at the minimum, at the lowest possible fraction time that can be even considered playing the game, you should have one 50. One 50 is not some far off goal that will take you a year or years to accomplish. It should not even take you at most 2 months. 3 months is pushing it hard if you've still got nothing to show for it.
Before the Hurr Durr I have a real life and work 60hrs/gf/kids/school. So do I and it still only took less than month. If you have to use that as an excuse it means that you're trying to justify a bad investment. You didn't have time, you wasted money, and you're continuing to put down a monthly subscription to, honestly, not play. Cut your losses and find something else.
Do you understand what you're standing behind? There is absolutely no excuse for trying to justify it anymore. You're wrong. You're simply 100% wrong.
Why, I know people who ONLY roleplay in mmorpgs and whose character(s) has/ve been level 5 for years. (< Hobbit characters on Lotro) There was a whole group of people that refused to move on from GW's tutorial and it was actually popolous enough for the devs to even implement a couple of dailies there. MADNESS!
Yar.
The charts prove nothing really. Lvl 15 can be thrown out mostly(due to needing it for your job) most of the early lvls can be thrown out as well as it takes around one hour or less to hit lvl 20. Much of that I would guess is due to low lvl cross class abilities such as cure. You now have levels 20~30 for the most part being the only other section.
Next we really can of just thrown everything out there because we have no information on ALTs and the number of RMT and such. The charts prove very little if anything when you take into account the information they gave us.
