    You understand me wrong. I do not mean cap as in 300 cap, I meant the cap being limited to one character, rather than separate on a class by class basis.

    Capping the main mode of gear is fine, but capping it on a character rather than a class by class basis is not. All it serves to do is give people less things to do and that's the biggest issue in the game, there is nothing to do.

    A cap per class would be nice.

    Cap per class would then get people complaining that they're locked out of BC (on their main job) and their other jobs have nothing to do but do the boring myth grind. They'll proceed to demand that BC lockouts be per job, not per character. :3

    Yeah, but at least I'd have something to do.

    As it stands the game is pretty bare-bones in regards to things you can do and the cap just makes it worse.

    Think of it this way.

    FFXIV is just like any other MMORPG where you would use alts for different classes. What's different, is that those who are too lazy to level up new characters, can, for a penalty (i.e. the myth cap and dungeon lockouts), have their 1 character capable of being all the different classes.

    If you want to get away from the cap and lockout, then just play FFXIV as if the job system doesn't exist. :3

    (Note that if we subscribe long term we get Standard benefits at Basic rates.)

    Problem with a seperate cap for each job they would need to change the myths to be specific for each job. Otherwise you could cap all and end up with 2400 tomes to spend on one job.

    Easiest way, IMO, would be to have one cap of tomes for DoW and one for DoM. With different style of tome rewarded and needed to buy specific equip.
