    Scholar questions

I'm having tons of fun on scholar. I know that it can quite effectively contribute to aoe dps so I've leveled with that in mind, getting in much practice.

I've googled for some of these answers but haven't found them.

Eos vs. Selene? I know Selene has things like skill/spell speed buff. Does she not heal as fast? At my level, 38, I love how Eos will keep the tank up in the first GCDs of a pull while I put up dots.

Before touching scholar, I had some delusion, because of something I was told, that she was a mild dps pet, but of course she isn't really, though her buffs can help in group dps.

What is the best dotting combination? I don't have Miasma II yet, so I don't know if Bane spreads it and if it stacks with M1. At the moment, I'm just Bio, Bio2, Miasma, Bane'ing.

Does Adloq stack? If I know a big hit is coming, is there any benefit to popping 2 Succors (like mini-titan in Qarn).

Shield Lob (Can change red text to Tomahawk and it will work perfectly Warriors)
    /macroicon "Shield Lob"
    /ac "Shield Lob" <t>
    /marking attack1 <t>

eos and selene serve different purposes

you'll want to use eos for more healing intensive fights, whereas selene can help more on dps races

besides their 3 unique skills, eos and selene are the same, their respective embraces heal for the same

bane only spreads bio, bio 2 and miasma (and it only spreads to 3 other targets, the tooltip is incorrect in that regard)

i usually shadow flare, bio2, miasma, bio, and then bane (followed by a miasma 2 if i'm bored)
edit: you can multi dot thunder and aero if you want to though i usually don't

neither adloquium nor succor will stack

Always place your pet, it alters their ai, makes them heal better, if you use Selene she auto casts the spell speed, unless you have her on guard, the skill speed you need to manually hit, and she will auto cast the spell one even if the skill one is still up, clipping its remaining time. Eos can be pretty powerful for fights like titan, place her up around the tank, not infront of Titan, but off to the side, keep her on guard, then when Titan jumps, if you are fast enough you can toss down sacred soil, the magic defense buff, healing buff, rouse Eos, whispering dawn, and swiftcast succor, just be sure to put her back on guard after so you have it for the next jump. I took Aero instead of thunder for and extra dot, because it's instant cast.

The question of Eos vs Selene is not a question of healing speed per se. They both heal the same amount over the same time with their main heal of Embrace. Nothing changes the amount they heal with that other than movement. Placing does not change that, either. They will always heal the same amount over the same amount of time. However, my own examination has shown that Eos will always heal for spikier healing. Selene will always heal for sustained. The respective buffs help to make up the difference of not having each others' buffs.

Another faerie myth is that placing somehow improves their AI. You see this in Mcshiggs' post. This is not the case. If you stand still, both faeries will heal the same amount with Embrace and respective output buffs. However, Eos will always have a small edge due to HOTs. This makes Eos preferred when healing straight up. She will increase the healing of you and the WHM. However, Selene's speed buffs will benefit Black Mages and Bards significantly. The evidence is still questionable concerning Monks due to their combo system.

Both Eos and Selene are great. They can be used to clear everything. I've cleared up to Coil 4 with both faeries. They are not wholly interchangeable, but they definitely will work.

I'll leave the DOT question to those with more experience. As a scholar, I'm a healer first. I'll only provide mild DPS in dungeons I and my tank outgear.

Adloquium does not stack. However, a stronger shield that derives from the stronger heal WILL overwrite a weaker shield. Always keep in mind that your shield is not independent. Your shield requires larger heals to be larger itself. If you spam Adlo, you can pretty much mitigate most damage. However, you'll only get 15-20 adlos before you bottom out. Theorycrafting reveals that 4 physicks, 1 adlo is great for an MP-negative rotation. 5 physicks, 1 adlo is MP-positive. That means you will not go out of MP with 5:1 with aetherflow and natural regen of MP at 4,000 MP.

I usually go with this order as well, and here's why. The higher level DoTs last for a longer amount of time. Hence, if you do them in this order they will wear off at roughly the same time, so you can put them all up together. This is a lot easier than trying to juggle three different DoT timers on top of keeping the tank healed.
