If an email says "This is not a scam", it's almost certainly scam.
If a chain letter says "This is not a chain letter", it's still a chain letter.

    What should we believe?

Well then archage portrays birds incorrectly. Birds do NOT fly for 90% off their time. They fly for a fraction of that. Most of their time is spent in trees looking for food, walking in grass looking for food, at the local Arby's parking lot looking for shit to eat, or sitting on fences, duking on everything. If you want realism for the birds, SE will have to program in a ton of bird shit, because realistically they take alot of shits. But I think they are fine how they are.

I think the point is, FFXIV has bland -REALISTIC- areas. The whole argument for the areas being so huge and all looking the same is that they tried to make the game feel realistic. As such they shouldn't have ridiculous mobs.
I believe they originally had a really good idea (which was to make the world interactive in that mobs attacked each other, etc) But they seem to have scrapped that now.
Birds are pretty well the only unrealistic mobs in the game. So it makes sense to redesign them or scrap them.

eldaena idea of resting positions or sitting on walls/trees is a good one though, but yeah when you fight them they need to hover, fighting a monsters that flys in circles 100 feet from you sucks.

And, you need to stop playing the game looking for things to be pissed about. rodegayn are big, i can jump like 11 feet when i do seismic shock, its not supposed to be reality. If floating creatures with wings takes you out of a fantasy game, then nothing is going to satisfy you.
lol I'm not pissed about anything, I'm just saying that would be neat is all...

Thisd machinic is in zeolda. And I said easy to attack mobs not easy to kill. WE mobs are in the game for us to kill to level up. As well as popular the fields. SE tried doing some mild dynamic content and it wasn't well resieved minus campaine battles and besieges. Also if your on a realism kick. Why does it take us more then 1 attack to kill something? Little bird getting hit by a massive axe would kill it instently. Same with shooting a bird with an Arrow. Mobs in the game are fine. I hated the bats and birds in zelda. Targeting them and trying to kill them was a pain in the butt.

Plus you also gotta consider lag issues too. Alot of animations tend to lag up players. Like sometimes I get lag if I'm crafting in the rain, or gathering. Each animation needs to load up.

And also just to note we do have a few dynamic mobs. The funguar trasmorpg from mushoom to creature.

Also Elder scrolls morrowwind had dynamic mobs. Like the cliff racers... those were a pain as well as those flying jelly fish things.

Please forgive me if someone said this between pages 3 and 8 of this thread, but..

This thread/topic would be 1000 times funnier if it was about witches.

People are so obssessed with MMOs like WoW (an MMO which is very unrealistic) that they've stopped even being able to appreciate the finer qualities in MMOs (such as realism).

You don't have to take it for granted that just because it is an MMO it is therefore unable to accommodate realism and individual mob-characteristics.

    Why settle for second best?
Total baller move there ignoring the entire post I made and focusing on WoW "The game I don't even mention" As to the only point you actually replied too...

Do you think every avian mob should act like UFO or Sharks and only come into field of attack when we somehow strike or agro them? How does that work for a marauder, does he just shout a Yo-momma joke? I still think it's unfeasable waste of time for a tiny change.

Was this after level cap was raised beyond 75? I can't imagine a UFO only hitting for 38 damage...Those things were living death machines unless you were prepared for em.
