Dear, we all should know by now that those people play MMORPGs for the e-peen factor.
I mean, imagine how shattered their ego would be if they died to a +4 Everybody's Grudge.
Completely serious. The whole point of getting new gear is to become more powerful. If you can't use that new gear in other instances then you're not really getting "more powerful." Going from having groups of similar geared players and narrowly beating demon wall before you run out of space to defeating said wall before bee's spawn shows what your work has accomplished.
It's called progression.
Well i guess to each his own.
After a weekend working on TT i dont need to faceroll WP to feel cool.
Evenmoreso on a game where gear is so easy to obtain its not really an e-peen thing anymore.
Its not really about feeling cool or wanting speed runs. Its about wanting to keep the thing and stats you took the time to get. Might as well make gear appearance only then and have all class stat capped on whatever dungeon your running and have to beat previous dungeons to unlock new. This seems to me like it is taking away gears worth.
You're coming off as a bit of a jerk. I agree with Reslin, we play the game to progress our characters. If gear was capped per dungeon you'd be running the same dungeon at exactly the same power forever. You would never get that sense of getting stronger. Can you imagine if everywhere you went locked your level/gear in a normal RPG? That'd be terrible. People spend time leveling up in older FF games to feel stronger than the enemies they are fighting.
I have not done speed runs in a long time now. There are few good methods to cap your Myth after Coil T1-T4(5).
1- Sell Titan (carry 3-4 people at the same time) << my current Myth cap method & Gil printer.
2- Help PUGs do Titan HM, I do this all the time as soon as I see someone shout for one, I join ^^. At least I try to join, sometimes I get told I'm not a bard -_-.
You can get creative. If you start ilvl sync Coil & Myth gear, you take away their value and most players are not going to be happy about it.
what would the point even be of doing endgame then?
you do it to get better gear, be it coil drops or myth items.. to have them capped straight away as you grind for more?
no. just no.
the dungeons should be challenging by developer's design, not by limiting the player.. even more.
It's not even just about e-peen. I don't brag about how "Fast" I clear a dungeon and I'm not one of those people who really care if my group messes up. What I do care about is progression. I don't want to just play barbie dress up. I want to see character improvement. I want to feel more powerful as I get new and better gear. This was actually a huge complaint with Elder Scrolls oblivion in that everything leveled up with you and the first mods out rectified this. I play mmorpgs to get gear and become stronger then use that stronger gear to get better gear and become even stronger. In fact, it annoys me I can't "choose" to do an earlier instance without scaling my level down. One of my favorite things in other mmorpgs is to take my current gear to earlier instances to see if I can solo it and sometimes even provide my own challenges.
I prefer freedom over restrictions.
Gear is already capped per dungeon up to level 50. It works, and it would work past level 50 too.
Would you like to beat a lvl 30 mob with your lvl 50 weapon? If you dont, why would you want to run a lvl 50 instance in i90 gear?
You progress by clearing content not by repeating the same content with better gear.
Its funny because almost everybody whines about the game being too easy but when having to chose between an easy mode and a challenge nobody wants the challenge.
