You said that players that post on the forums aren't experienced enough to suggest what the game needs(How you are able to know the extent of a posters experience is beyond me, but I'll let that part slide).

My point was that players said this game needed an official forum(And it did) and they have been very vocal about other issues as well. Just because someone doesn't develop a game doesn't mean they don't know what makes a game good, if this were true then video game critics and reviewers would be out of a job as no one would respect their opinion. On the flip side, who is to say what makes a developer good? You know how many crappy games SE and OTHER triple A developers have put out? With the way the game was released I would argue they are the ones who don't know what makes a game good(No mailboxes, mounts, battle system to name a few)

So I'll close with this: The developers need the players feedback as much as players need the developers. It is what makes an MMO grow and become successful.

Your definition of "need" is flawed. FFXI survived 8 years without an official forum.
Why did XIV need one when XI didn't?

Need is based on necessity. In order to progress and compete with modern MMOs a forum may be necessary, but how can you determine that? I would say, it could only gain from a forum, but it didn't explicitly need one.

It's a semantic argument, but that's all TC's argument was in my opinion.

This was the point of that first section:

    de ja vu?

Before you try to to twist my words around, please examine the context of the material you are nit-picking from so that next time you don't fall flat on your face like you just did. Thanks!
