Empty?

I've just started back up again and just roaming around limsa, it appears really dead since the beta.

Bearing in mind I'm meant to be on the most packed server (Selbina) and I hardly see anyone around Limsa or the camps.

I'm looking for a linkshell to join also as it is very empty right now so it appears.

That's because Uldah has the best leves and everyone puts their retainers in Uldah so it's the best place to buy stuff.

It all feeds into a self-reinforcing cycle and the result is that everyone stays in Uldah since it's the best way to make money, get SP, and socialize.

How far away is it to travel? Could I actually go there now?

Yes, go to the port, ride the ship and you'll end up in Thanalan. Follow the road, you'll pass camp Horizon. Keep following the road till you can take a right and you'll be infront of Ul'dah. Or as someone if they can give you a free port to Ul'dah.

Go West past the NPC merchants to the ferry. Ride the ferry. Get off the ferry and follow the path east until you get to Uldah. Right when you get off the ferry, you will see a bunch of hyenas and possibly gnats that will aggro you and one shot you. Make sure to avoid those. On the way to Uldah, stay far away from any antlings, as those will one shot you, too.

Yes. Look at the Limsa map and head down to the docks. Just wait there for the ship to arrive, you'll automatically board it, and then wait for it to come to Thanalan. Once you've docked, just follow the yellow path on the minimap.

Cool, cheers guys I'll make my way to Ul'dah, but is that seriously the reason for how empty Limsa has got? it just seems unreal that EVERYONE has just gone to Ul'dah. I would have thought there would have been a lot of noobs like myself at limsa and the camps.

Sure, the number of players affects things, but at this point everyone spends their time in Ul'dah. There have been others who have asked the same question as you, someone replies in the same manner as the previous posters, and the player then travels to Ul'dah. It started as a trend, but now everything has become localized and has reached a point where it's become difficult to do anything outside of Thanalan.
