Script Error on launcher

I bypass it by doing the system restore trick. After that I received an error where I can't update the patch server. So what I did was I went to my brother's computer and copied every single ffxiv/square enix folder and drag/drop/copy/paste every each of it into my computer. And guess what? It worked.

Has anyone attempted to manually delete any files leftover after unistall and then reinstalling?

I ran into this today, but found the fix thanks to WhiteFox on Youtube. Although its suppose to be for Beta it worked for me. I set my FFXIV_BOOT.cfg just the same as his. It had me redo my initial login, but then back to working. Hope this helps everyone!

Just happened to me today to. Was working fine yesterday. Did not install anything new. Oddly enough I was thinking about not resubbing this month. Apparently SE doesn't want me too.

No SE team member is going to reply to you with "try doing this or that".
If you post here, accept that players will try to help you in a way or the other. Otherwise just send a ticket and wait in the limbo.
And yes, it's something on your PC, not the launcher that thousands of people are using with no issue.
People reported adware/malware on their PC, firewall, DNS issues, windows updates that caused this.

This is how I got the issue fixed.

The launcher uses IExplorer, so I thought to myself that is could be adware that was attached to my browser that was causing the issue. So the first thing I did was upgraded the browser so that it would be reset to it's default setting... I tried the launcher again, and this time I got a different error.

My next thought was maybe I had some freeware that slipped past me while installing other freeware.. Ya know, like special offer or trial versions of other software... So I popped open my control panel and headed to uninstall programs and modified my list to most recent changes. I found 2 programs that were installed that I had no clue what they were there for.
