Frustrated...

Ok, so im physical level 18 and i have all the jobs up to 10, with GLD and LNCR at 11-13. I need some gear upgrades to grind a bit quicker, but when looking at the build lists for a simple pair of level 10 shoes, its like a fortune in crafting mats to make. Not only that, but i gotta be a freakin nuclear scientist or mathmatician to remember all the mats that i need to craft into what and wait....there several parts i cant make on my own!

Wow...well, guess its time to shelf FFXIV until they make it more accessible. Man, gorgeous game. Interesting game. And then they make is just a pain in the ass to figure out how to get gear.

My friend don't shelf FFXIV for that reason alone! all you need to do is save up all your shards and crystals look up the common average price and sell them in the market wards, i rake in about 100k a day from doing this sometimes more depending on my goal for the day. Then I just buy all my gear, you do not have to have the perfect level requirement i usually stay inside 5 ranks for optimal rank.

Edit: Yesterday i spent pry 4 hours on FFXIV with the sole intention of farming crystals, i had a little left over from the other day but all together i ended up with 273k.

Once you have the money buying materials for crafting does not seem like such a big dip in your wallet or time.

I agree though, the crafting system is... not ideal. (I have other words, but I'll refrain from using them.)

Websites like YG will also tell you if an NPC sells that particular gear for a reasonable price, if you cannot find it in the market wards.

Yeah, not being able to upgrade my gear is a pretty big set back.

But i may try that crystal selling thing, since i have right around 2-3k shards and crystals sitting in my inventory.

I honestly thought about just selling everything i farmed for and then buying gear, but even at that, i can never find any gear under level 24 from the random people i see sitting around Ul'dah. Is there some specific place i can go to look at bazaars or retainers with bazaars in Ul'dah?

There are some low level quests in and around the cities that you can get some low level gear from, its not too hard to do a little bit of crafting with the local leves and they can give you rewards, crafting isn't everyones cup of tea but i wouldn't just give it up.

I wish i could show you in person lol but there are places in each main city called Market Wards, these Market Wards operate much like Auction Houses. At these Market Wards you'll not only sell your crystals to other players, but you can buy all sorts of gear from other players.

NEVER sell your crystals to a vendor (bazaar), all ways sell them at the Market Wards, people will pay big bucks for them i sell each air shard at 200 a pop you do the math there O.o that a lot of cash.

Edit: Each Market Ward in each City is relatively close to the cities crystal, in Uldah you will see a ton of people standing near the entrance.

Definitely get acquainted with the market ward and the retainer system. you can sign out a retainer in the Adventurers Guild. Then place it in the Market Ward of your choice, it will sell your goods and store your gear once you set it up. Then just check back with it once a day.

Yup. I found it. Whole part of the game that even my LS couldn't seem to tell me about. Either way, disaster averted. Thanks for all the help, its extremely appreciated.
