    Of course the quests will be repeated. They're not going to have another event and not let people participate in it. I know we like to rag on square enix but give them a little credit.
    This has happened before, it'll do a simple script check

    //if the input fields are equal to database values, no need to update and waste resources,hence, do nothing:
    if ( (shioban_mooney = 1) //where 1 is complete 0 is incomplete
    {
    //do nothing
    }
    //If, however, (they are NOT equal and) input fields are not empty:
    elseif (shioban_mooney = 0)
    {
    //do something.
    }

    They even stated that 'quests cannot be completed when the event has ended', meaning if you don't finish it now, you'd have to wait until February to complete it.

    The gear quest is a one time thing, technically you can wait and do the gear quest until then but it will NOT repeat it.

    Square Enix won't repeat a quest that drops event gear.

    As for the AF comment, that was me referring to having 'two sets of an item', not the gender locking scenario, where-in if you already had AF from 1.0, but it wasn't in your inventory/armory chest at the time, it would give you a second (un-discarable) item.

    No, my problem is we don't know /when/ Fantasia's are being offered, it could be June 2014 before we see them being offered again, so I naturally obtained the gear from the quest, so that theory goes out the window.

    The gear can ONLY be obtained via the quest, once the quest is completed it can't be repeated.

    Just like you can get SOLIDER outfit, for Lighting in LR....you should be able to use Lighting gear, on male chars, and Snow gear, on females...
    And you should be able to buy both, at the same NPC, as is selling weps, so you can buy the other set.
    I agree on separating the genders, fitting the female/male clothing for the opposite genders would be a tad difficult, but having it so that you can't OBTAIN both genders is pointless, especially when you're offering a service where you can change race/gender at any given moment.

    They did it for the summer event, they should have done it for this too.

    Honestly, I would much rather both genders be able to wear both outfits, id much rather wear snows outfit on my monk(assuming they let us use them in vanity slots).

    Not really. Snow's outfit could just be as-is with no adjustments at all, and they could just change Lightning's skirt to shorts. Or, y'know, do something really progressive and let guys wear a skirt!

    Hate gender-locked things. Anti would look adorable in the coat and pants.

    I cannot believe the stuff that people complain about...are you kidding me? This gear cannot go into the armiore and you want to have two sets...I don't think you are thinking this through completely. Be happy with the one you got and go on with life...if you wanted the other gender then you should have made that gender character to start with.

    Way to miss the point entirely.
    It's about futureproofing - What if I change my gender in the future? After February (if they let you repeat the quests) you'll never be able to obtain them ever again.

    I'm afraid it's not that easy, due to body shapes, where women have more curves and men are more angular. It would look incredibly silly without these adjustments (both ways)
    You may not have noticed, but lightning has breasts and her guardian corps top would need adjusted to remove them. (Which isn't as easy as 'flattening a few polygons') it'd be a huge waste of time;

    It is completely possible but these are the assets taken DIRECTLY from Final Fantasy XIII's asset pool, re-sized to fit Hyur>Elezen etc. The base model design has not been changed. To add/remove breasts and heavily adjust the curvature of the clothing would mean having to re-do;
    •The original hi-poly model
    •UV Mapping the model
    •Retopologising it into a lower poly model
    •Readjusting the UV Mapping on the model
    •Reapply and adjust the bump and specular maps
    •Redo the diffuse texture
    •Rebaking the maps onto the model
    •Re-rigging, skinning and weighting the model
    •Making adjustments for texture compression and memory impact
    •Finalising the graphics for errors/deformities.
    •Applying it to the game

    So no, it isn't 'easy'.

    Here's what I mean about body shapes;

    I assumed you were talking about artistic adjustments, but... uhm, thanks for the lecture, I guess? I disagree that it would be a waste of time, though.

    It's a simple fact of life that the different genders have different physical and other characteristics. Why not celebrate those differences instead of complaining about them? *This is no way intended to be sexist, merely a simple bilogical fact that men have things that women don't and women have things that men don't.

    They even stated that 'quests cannot be completed when the event has ended', meaning if you don't finish it now, you'd have to wait until February to complete it.

    Square Enix won't repeat a quest that drops event gear.
    1) this hasn't happened before
    2) the fact that the quests can't be compelted when the event is not in session is obvious and has nothing to do with the issue. You have no proof or evidecne that the quests can not be played again, or that the quests aren't literally seperate for male and female characters, or that they can't simply reset the quest flags for the next time the event happens. You are just making an assertion with no evidence.
    3)How do you know they won't? Even in cases where it was true in XI, if the quest could not be repeated, they set up an NPC that sold the previous event rewards. But some event quests came back year after year. So if you're trying to suggest to me that there is a precedent for your assetion that they WON'T do it, you're wrong.
