The Armoire: Are there any plans to make it more... useful?

In patch 2.1, we will be expanding the number of items that you can place within the armoire:

• Seasonal items from events that took place after the launch of A Realm Reborn
• Items from the "Lightning Strikes" event
• Collector's Edition bonus items
• Pre-order bonus items
• Main tools obtained from the level 50 Disciples of the Hand class quests

Any plans to make this useful ahead of time instead of post events going forward? Why do we always have to wait (and so long) to be able to add new items to the armoire? Should this not be done when you create and do the data entry for any new items you add to the game instead of playing catch up all the time?
