    WHM starting in Coil

    Planning on starting to do Coil soon on my WHM. I only have experience in Turns 1 and 2 (turn 1 very little though) on Bard, but I'd like to know some gear advice, minimal if needed stats and some playstyle advice, like what I should be expecting to happen

    Currently this is my gear:


    For starters I know I should be upgrading to DL jewelry (and imagine that Tourmaline bracelet as turquoise) and putting some melds on the hat (I'm beyond broke), but for the most part, will my current gear be a hinderance? Will there be anything in ADS/Cadeucus that will happen where my stats will not suffice?

    Finally I'm planning on getting some Relic armor before my +1 relic. Besides gloves and earring (since they drop from Turn 1) what upgrade should I go for next?

    Any advice is welcome and appreciated.

    Healer is very dependent on the rest of the group. If the tank/dps have good gear/rotation, you can get away with less. Also, if your co-healer is performing well, they can help shoulder the burden.

    Now, onto stats. When you reach Turn 5, you're going to want 4200 HP (fully buffed; food, tank buff, full party buff, etc). Your HP right now is probably a little low to reach that, so I would either (cheap way) respec and put some stats into VIT, or (expensive way) get some crafted jewelry and meld VIT into it.

    For upgrades, here's what you'll be buying as a WHM with your Mythology:
    Thyrus +1
    Cleric's Gloves
    Cleric's Culottes
    Cleric's Boots
    Hero's Ring of Healing

    The most important is Thyrus +1. Get that first. After that, I would work on what gives you the biggest upgrade based on what drops you get in Coil.

    Gear isn't really required for the healer if you have a/or BRDs in your team. Memorizing boss rotations is infinitely more useful.

    The only real gear check is T5 (T4 will be extremely difficult though if undergeared)

    And Leo, thanks for the advice and I'll send you a tell next time I can. For your list though I have a question. Could I get an HQ melded Astral Ring in place of the Hero's Ring? besides Vitality what should be melded onto it to make it useful?

    Your main issues with Turn 2 will be the mechanics, not the healing. If your party is stunning, dodging, tank swapping, and passing rot properly, you shouldn't have a problem.

    As for Astral Ring, you absolutely could. In fact, if you meld 2 CRIT +6 and 2 PIE +3 to it, along with a VIT +8, it's useful for WHM, SCH, BLM and SMN.

    Totally forgot I BLM could use this as well. Thanks for letting me know well beforehand!

    And for the most part my FC knows what they're doing, now if I can manage to get into a party I'd be solid

    You will be fine in T2. Most of the difficulty will come (as a healer) on how efficient your tanks taunt rotate.

    T1 and T2 is a joke. Just saying.

    I haven't experienced T5 as I can't find a decent PUG party who can clear T4 with it's puny mechanics.

    As for gear i would not EVER get the Cleric's gloves. Your allagan gloves drop in turn 1 and they give you Crit instead of spell speed. IMO getting cleric's gloves is a total waste of Myth tomes.
    For me i'm leaning towards getting the Cleric's pants next, since the allagan ones drop in turn 5, and the boots drop turn 2. However your first priority should be getting your Thyrus +1, which is a big boost to your healing.

    Yes. Thyrus +1. Don't ever consider anything else. And pants next since it drops in turn5.

    I wouldn't buy cleric gloves, but that's only because they drop in turn 1. Spell speed is much better than crit on WHM. Crit = overheal. Spell speed? The .01 sec difference between a wipe and a win. Also gives higher mobility.

    My myth spending:
    - Thyrus +1
    - Hero ring
    - Pants
