    Show your macros!

I made a bunch of macros specifically for Titan HM as SCH, and it might come in useful for folks. It lines up macros for Succor (top), Physick (me the blue swirly, then party members 2 to 8 below that), Physick on Focus target, Virus target of target (again for Titan, if you can fire it prior to his jump), and the last one sets focus target.

    Here's the macros ingame :

The macros are, from top to bottom :

    succor - /ac "succor" <me>
mephysick - /ac "Physick" <1> (has its own icon so i can panic cure myself )
    2 through 8 - /ac "Physick" <2> to <8> - physicks party members (*see below*)
physickfocus - /ac "Physick" <f> (ONLY use after the last macro has been used to make a focus target)
    virustt - /ac "virus" <tt>
    focustarget - /focustarget

When the macros are made using System / User Macros, attach them to your UI using 'Hud Layout' and select Hotbar 7. The vertical one.

Now, still in Hud Layout, move your party list over (either a bit to the right of where it is default, though I moved it all the way to the right and bottom, so it's by my spell bars, it's up to you what you grow comfortable with).

Then, grab Hotbar 7 and move it to the left of your party list.

Now, get a few friends a form a party of 4-8. You can then line up the macros in macrobar 7 to you party list. If party members 4 and 5 are pretty much adjacent to their macros, you're set.

A final word on focustarget. In a fight where you have a tank, click the tank in party list, and then the last button on hotbar 7, this will bring up a "Focus Target" applet on your screen. From then on up, the other 2 buttons from the bottom will perform actions on the focussed target - in the setup I have in the screenshot, below '8' (physick party member 8) they are 'physick focus' (you could change this to adloquiquim, or any other spell, on the tank), 'virustt' (special case, the macro is /ac "virus" <tt> which should slap virus on Titan).

The format of casting a spell on focustarget is "/ac "spellname" <f>".

Have a play with these options, the FFXIV macro system is more powerful than we often use it for. Implementing this spellbar has saved me a lot of work in doing click pt member - click action - click another.... and it has a massive added benefit :

If you are curing a tank, you can set him as the focustarget (/focustarget in macros), then with another macro (/ac physick <f>, or /ac cure <f> or any other spell you want), you can cure the tank - without having to click on him. If you click another player to cure them, and hit your macro button to marked 'ac cure <f>', the tank will then be cured. How cool is that?

Anyhoo have fun, and use those macros. They're so useful.

One last tip! In HUD layout you can resize the macro bar, by selecting it and using CTRL-HOME. That will allow you to resize the buttons - smallest is too tiny, large is HUGE, middle is about ok. As Momma Bear said.

The only macro I've bothered to make was to send a party message when I pop Hallowed Ground along with a sound effect: "IN SOVIET RUSSIA, GROUND HALLOWS YOU" -- it's easier for healers to see I've used the Hail Mary like that than to type it or to do a vent shout.

You are over complicating things. Just set up your macros using <mo>. This lets you simply mouse over the party members character model or name in the party list to cast on them.
