I dont care what people call them. I was just pointing out that they are indeed pronounced differently.I'm sorry, not exactly the same way, but close enough to the same that they can easily be read the same way when taking the entire "tomestone" word into account. Much the same way your brain will miss extra an extra "the" in a sentence, or be able to read a word with the letters all jumbled, as long as the first and last letter are the same. Since the whole word is "tomestone" and can easily be mistaken using that logic for "tombstone".. the shortened version becomes tomb. Again, not really that big of a deal.

Who cares? Are you going to start correcting people when they use 4 instead of for or 2 instead of to?
There, if you are going to talk about correcting language you should at least do it correctly.
If people don't know what a tome is...
He doesn't mind us conducting trials so close to his bazaar, so long as he's properly compensated... Yes, Portus, we pay him in sorcery-blasted bird flesh. - Cocobygo
Who gives a rat's ass / flying f__k / s__t what people call it? Why do you care so much? You're an idiot if you don't know what they're talking about when they say 'tombs' as it relates to FFXIV. Do you have nothing better to do than make this incredibly pointless thread?
They will always be tombstones to me.
Since we are educating people, I love it when I see people say "que" when its actually "Queue". The the former is not a word at all and the latter is the actual word used to mean "take your place in a line".
And another of my favorites is when people misuse the internet shorthand, ie: plz PST me. PST = "PLEASE" send tell... sounds like someone is begging "please please send me a tell."
Makes me laugh every time I see that.
