    It's an FF game.

    I have frequent moments of 90-99% success actions fail 4+ times in a row while I craft/gather that makes me want to eat the souls of the gods in charge of random chance... wait...

    Problem is everything in this game feels like squandered potential (thus far, hopefully the potential will be utilized)

    Some of the environments in the game are a true testament of spectacle that the FF series is known for
    But the areas themselves are small and cramped.

    Classes/Jobs are surprisingly well-balanced for an MMO upon releasy (yes it is technically re-released, but the battle system and class mechanics are basically brand new) (Yes, there are still balance issues but not nearly as many as you normally find in a new MMO)
    But the strict adherence to specific roles makes each class/job feel less unique than they otherwise could have.

    Music is gorgeous
    But we don't hear it nearly enough.

    Some of the dungeon/boss mechanics are really interesting and make a lot of the instances more interesting than tank & spank for an hour.
    But... well, actually I'm quite happy with this, I hope they keep coming up with unique mechanics.

    That's about what's keeping me playing for now.

    Direction wise...
    1. open, a really open, add-on API. I mean not something that only provides aesthetic changes to the user interface, but an API that allows custom made functions
    2. more variation in grind content, e.g. randomized enemy layout and patrols, boss has a huge pool of abilities, etc.
    3. improve crafting as a game content:
      1. some differentiation between crafters of the same class besides a name on the product
      2. player-issued leves e.g. "WTB: X item for Y gil.", i.e. the reverse of the current market board
    4. raid management enhancements:
      1. built-in support for some popular loot rules (DKP/GKP/Suicide Kings/Call Loot/need-once with loot distributed only when raid is disbanded etc.)
      2. in-game calendar for arranging raids with functions like sign-up/waiting list/email reminder from lodestone/etc
      3. in-game DKP-like accounting system incorporated into LodeStone

    I like the world design. SE has some of the most talented artists in the business IMO. I like seeing the sights and hearing the sounds. I hope they expand the game to include things for explorers; hidden nooks and crannies, hidden one time chests with vanity gear or a non-combat pet, vistas that can only be seen from certain perspectives. Let me go climb the mountain in the distance. Let me go take a swim and see what's in the water. Unfortunately SE does not embrace those types of design ideals, so I don't think I'll ever see anything like that, but it is a damn shame that they have such amazing artists but don't let them play. It's all very pretty, but right now it feels a bit like more of an attraction than a place to explore.

    Having an option to suppress battle music the same way you can suppress chocobo music would be rather helpful. This game's battle music just isn't that good, while the background music is often quite amazing, but you don't get a choice on what you want to hear.

    Graphics and music are great! Even the background sounds...I love to be walking in the shroud and just listen to nature do its thing.

    I want to see more jobs!
    I want them to introduce Agility as a stat that determines Evasion and from that give us THF, NIN etc.
    I want to see more open world options.
    I want SAM! DPS or Tank IDC!!!
    I want NO LAG!
    I want more Story! I want it to make me /laugh /cry and /wowza I didn't see that coming!
    I want a lot and I'm ok with that!
