The Market Board and our server

I dont know whats going on with people but whats the deal with the market board and people undercutting so much, its disgusting and getting out of hand.

We need to police ourselves up and correct this problem.

An item that has been selling for 40k+ for over a month is getting undercut so bad its now getting posted for 5k to 8k, this is really getting out of hand.

The undercutting needs to stop, if you want to undercut, undercut 1 Gil not 20k or 30k that is getting way out of hand people.

    Cheers !

I actually tend to sell my items in line with the second or third cheapest on the list. It might take a few minutes/hours longer to sell but it (almost) always gets sold and doesn't devalue the item in the process!

Undercutting is a slippery slope, guys. Do what I do!

I don't undercut people and I usually just sell at the cheapest price, but of course there are greedy, desperate individuals who wouldn't mind crashing the economy for their own benefits. Perfect example would be crystals. They went from 170-180+ to only 100-110+ now. Hell, some even go lower than 100.

Supply and Demand, economics 101. When there are more items on the market then there are people that need them, the items value decreases.

When there are more people that need an item than is available, value increases.

Philo items, for example. They used to be worth 100k each. Now they are worth 20k.

    I hope this helps.

This is a major issue at the moment. I believe there are a lot of people that are either to impatient for their items to sell or they just don't understand the market or the gathering process for mats and how much time it takes to gather items people need constantly for crafting. There's one very simple solution to under cutters. When people flood the market with mats or items they come in waves. So let's say you post an item or items at the price they should be selling for and have been selling for, for an extended period of time. Now you notice a few random people post the same item for a super deflated price. The easiest solution to stopping the problem right there is buy them out. You then repost their items for the price they should sell at. They will sell fast and they always do if they are items or mats people constantly use.

The thing people need to understand with gear is its harder to do this because eventually the gear market is going to almost come to a standstill because the people that want or need those items already have them and have no use for more so the buying cheap and reselling method doesn't really work here. But with items people constantly need for crafting this should never change because people will constantly need them.

Gathering mats is a very time consuming endeavor so when people try to ruin your market buy them out. Maybe they are happy with making little to nothing for their work. But rest assured they won't be restocking the market as fast as people need them. And there will always be consumers

There was a gil seller on the market board for a few weeks selling the WVR/GSM/LTW ilvl 70 gear undercutting by 50k-100k each time. After reporting in game and post on the server forums He/she/it either got banned or moved on.

I really like the buying out idea. BUY LOW SELL HIGH! Helps the economy AND your wallet!

Supply and demand. There are also a lot of farm bots running around nowadays, it would be less of an impact for them to undercut just to sell their goods simply because they didn't really put much effort into them.

I undercut by 1 gil, including my own retainer.

perhaps some sellers w/ the same items just aren't that greedy( despite what the market is doing )

when going to the market board to buy things....do you skip over all the cheap items, and go right to the bottom of the listings to purchase the most expensive one selling ? .... i bet not...why not?..... because this would make you an idiot.

IF YOU UNDERCUT >>>> THEY WILL BUY
