So they have to go in game, and change out an entire feature so you don't have to occasionally get up and move your character around to avoid Auto-Log?
I chuckled.

Auto-run into a wall, switch to a crafting job and select a synth. I even think sitting on a mount, all these keep you logged in I believe.
Exactly, even simply talking to a NPC and keeping the speech bubble open keeps it from logging you out.
There's simply no point to it anymore. Right now it's nothing but an annoyance, completely pointless and there's no reason why this shouldnt just flat-out be removed for our convenience.
Not to mention the bad publicity this game really cannot use right now with it having such unneeded restrictions. I'm sure there have been plenty of people turned off by this who would have given it a try otherwise.
This. I mean, I would play this game soooo much more if it didn't inconvienience me by logging me out when I'm not even there! How am I supposed to efficiently waste electricity if my gpu isn't going to be getting used because I got logged out?! SE clearly don't think this through!
Clearly one of the main points I focus on when buying/commiting to a game.
*sigh*
I concur. When I first read in the FFXIV:ARR Internet Manual written by our Lord Savior Yoshi himself that this was being implemented I did nothing but put my credit card away and sigh in disgust.This. Back when the game was newly thriving I remember the times where I had to sit and wait to try get in due to the servers being full, this was the highlight of my time in this game and nothing has come comparison to it.
Does anyone even remember when we all used to go into Revenant's toll and out of 200 people only like 3 would be moving, because everyone knew the second they logged off they wouldn't be able to get on? Such a snowball effect was all too joyous.
When I come back from hosting a party, going to the Cinema and then traveling to the Jupiter and back it pains me to see I have to wait in a queue as high as 35 people.
I'm honestly curious. Please, show me the "bad puclicity" that has stemmed from the COMMUNITY REQUESTED auto-logout feature.
