    Limited Listings on Market Board

    Hello!

So, I am by no means one of the clever MB sharks that are rolling around in Gil, but I do end up with a lot of random stuff in my Inventory that I want to unload on the MB. That is very hard to do when you only have 2 retainers with 20 slots.

One thing that I try to do with stacks of items is to break them up. I hate having to buy 99 of an item when I only need 5 and end up paying a lot, and because it bothers me I try to avoid it and hope that other people appreciate the option. However, this really limits how many things I can sell.

I don't see how being able to sell however many things you want is a terrible thing. It's all going to be put up there eventually, and it will help with managing the economy with more supply/demand.

I'm not personally sure how I feel on this - I think I'm ok with the current system as it means I can "fill" slots and then log off! This was certainly true in FFXI and likely still true here, but a lot of things SE does is to hamper their great foe, the gilseller. FFXI was limited (at least when I last played) to 7 slots per character and we managed, although people circumvented that by having lots of alts. I understand what you are saying and do find it frustrating to spend time "managing my inventory" but I guess you can't carry infinite stuff in real life either

The limited cap is actually very beneficial. It gives all players an equal turf on the market board. You have to choose carefully what 40 items can be sold. Meaning somewhere on the market board, you have the chance to make some gil because each individual market now has fewer competitors, since you must choose what you sell carefully. Since this limit prevents players from monopolizing all markets at once, everyone has a much better chance at the market board.

If the cap was removed, you could definitely expect a ton more competitors, driving the prices of your goods down and at the same time lowering your chance of making any gil. The cap is actually keeping the economy from being monopolized from a select few, in this case, those who understand how these things work

Ahhh, your explanations actually made a lot of sense. If it means keeping the market healthy while also making life difficult for the Gil Spammers then I will happily deal with a bit of inconvenience. Thanks.
