This. The way you "attune" to an aetheryte is just to stand in the area around it, open your main menu, and click "Aetheryte." The first time you do that in a city or at a camp, you'll get a message that says "You've arrived in [Uldah/Gridania/Camp Iron Lake/etc.]" After that, you can just open your main menu, and go to "Teleport," choose the region, and then choose the specific camp you want to teleport to.

You regenerate only 6 anima per day. But teleporting saves soooo much time.

Like others have said, I wouldn't worry too much about getting new gear before you hit level 20. Do sidequests to pick up new gear. Or if you just want to buy it, check YG or Eorzeapedia to figure out the gear you want, then check the Market Wards for that gear.

(At low levels, I usually ran around in a Canvas Shirt; Leather Shoes; Cotton Kecks; Canvas Sash, and Leather Wristguards. The advantage to those is that they can be used by all classes, so you don't have to worry about changing gear when you change jobs.)

And if you're having trouble getting enough money to buy gear at low levels, don't worry. That's usually the way it works. Just keep in mind that having enough money is not a problem in this game (at least so far). Leve rewards increase as you level up. When you start doing higher level leves, you'll start getting more gil from each leve. And faction leves offer even better rewards. I've gotten more than 50K gil from one leve.
