Thinking of coming back

Ok so I got the CE when the game first game out. I played for about 2 weeks, and then stopped playing do to all the things that were wrong with the game. So my question is this. Is it worth playing now. I really liked the look of the game, but the player market system was so bad it hurt. That combined with no way to really level crafting jobs and having to do nothing but grind for adventure jobs made me stop playing. So have they fixed any of that yet?

IMO now is a good time to get started again. Not close to being totally fixed, but well on it's way.

A lot of features that were frustrating that early in the game have been repaired, altered, rebalanced, and such. I've been playing since the CE release, so I've seen all these changes come to play. Personally, I think after the patch in June, which is a combat update alongside content, we are going to be looking at almost a completely different game. If you start again now, or in June, you will be on about the same level learning curve I think.

The Market wards basically work. They still have a way to go. But there is an item search and a huge icon above the npcs head when you enter. Basically an AH where you have to pick up the item. The main flaw atm is they crash in uldah because everyone congregated there.

Lag is no worse then XI now. Basically that improved 20fold.

They added a bunch of quest, a new task board for crafters/gathers, and several dozen NMs to kill. Outside that it is the same game.

I would say start now if you are ok with what is said above, because the content coming up Dungeons, New classes, and some of the quest all have prereqs to them, atm mainly Rank of the classes. So starting now you will be ready for the big updates coming.

A bit of advice though the game is extremely group based, get into an active linkshell if you join now. You will need it to do partys and such. Solo the game is insainly brutal past rank 24, it is possible but not optimal at all.

I am also in the same boat. I got the CE, played for about 2 weeks, and after banging my head on my desk for the last time, I uninstalled the game. I'm coming back now, 8 months later, to see if the game has made any progress. It's good to hear that you mentioned there is a big patch coming in June. I still have 2 weeks on my free 30 days and then it's month to month from there until they win me over. Since I'm not 100% positive how long I'm staying, I plan on soloing for the next 2 weeks, and if the game wins me over and I resub for another month, then I'll find a linkshell.
