Why is this game so slow? (gcd)

Played FFXI, I was in a Dynamis Lord HNM LS that regularly claimed Nidhogg/Aspid/King Behemoth and farmed triggers for all the Sky Gods.

Had RDM/NIN/SAM/BLM/BRD/BST all at 75 when it was the cap, and had every other job above level 60. I was about 2 months away from Maats Cap and quit about 1/2 a year after they implemented Blue Mage and Corsair.

This isn't FFXI btw.

I'm surprised that someone who dedicated so much time to FFXI is complaining about the combat speed of this game.
