I see airships flying across the sky and sometimes birds in Gridania (or I'm hallucinating). It also rains and the clouds move I think.

There ARE ruins, and altars, and etc. You have to search for them though. Ishgard is currently a ruin but inaccessible.

And there ARE unique places, though not a whole lot of them that can be accessed.

There are interesting places and things to find if you look hard enough, sadly the reward is usually a speedy death, so few people take the path least travelled to find them. However, there was a thread someone posted that had cords for the interesting hidden areas and landmarks.

nothing but ruins of what was something, no temples no past civilization, nothing of intrigue. at all.
    why?
if i was a company that was willing to invest loads of money into a idea, it should at the minimum be interesting.
but instead its the same thing.
I keep asking the same question. If I want to look at a green field I'll look at the default windows desktop image.

Why beat a dead horse? Plus they are addressing the not so unique zones with quest hubs.

It's like when I was talking to a friend of mine:

    He: "Draw something funny!"
    Me: "Alrite! About what?"
He: "You know... something funny, that we can laugh about!"
Me: "Ok,... but in what theme?"
He: "It just has to be funny."

Morale: I just got over it and draw something I found funny, but he didn't.

I like finding the hidden places. If they were everywhere, they would not be so unique, or fun to find. There are caves and hidden pockets all over the place, but often nothing unique in them. I would like to see special monsters or items hidden in some of them.

I also love the landscapes, they are beautiful, and they have plenty of interesting terrain. I think people are so used to having things out in the open and obvious, that they miss the subtle detail in this game.

However, we could a few more birds. Geese flying in arrow formation would be cool.

    Just my two cents.
