PS3 version ont he PS4?

As we know the PS4 version of the game will not be out right away, however is the PS3 version playable on the PS4? I am planning on trading in my PS3 to pay off the last bit of money remaining on my PS4 preorder. My dilemma is my GF plays on the PS3, will she be unable to play on the PS4? or will she be able to play the PS3 version of it for the time being? I am sorry If this sounds confusing, it was hurting my head a little bit to write it :P

PS4 will only be able to play PS3 games through Geikai.. although i'm not sure what determines a person's eligibility to stream which games (trophies maybe?) but i know i'm not gonna re-buy any PS3 titles just to play them on the new console :x

I recall reading something awhile back that those who have purchased the PS3 version will be able to get the PS4 version for free (once it's available and they've also purchased a PS4). But that was awhile ago and that may change by the time the PS4 version launches.

You must have the game purchased thru PSN or have the physical copy in the PS4 in order to play that game thru the streaming service. That is if your game exists thru on the service as not all games will be supported and the service is not available at launch. For things like FFXIV:ARR you have to use the same account that you linked upon initial setup.

Those who have the PS3 version will be able to log in to the PS4 FFXIV and vice versa. However the PS4 version will not be out until February 22nd(?)... you wont be able to play the actual PS3 version of FFXIV on PS4 as it is not backwards compatible. If you trade in your PS3 youll be screwed until February when the PS4 beta comes out unless you also bought the PC version, or can borrow another PS3.
