Honestly, this first series was cake. Even solo, it's extremely easy to complete these fates and the spawn times aren't bad. I spent about an hour and a half and finished the quest and purchased all 8 weapons.

I guess this is the one benefit to being in NA and playing on a JP server; my prime gaming time isn't theirs. So, while the FATEs were kinda crowded, there was still enough time for a few people to stand next to Lightning for screenshots if they hurried. ^^; Good luck guys, I feel for you.
I'm not fond of the whole 'must be level 45 to get level 13 items'... I mean, are these items even going to be used by them? (insert ragey comment about lack of vanity slots and not being able to store this stuff in the armoire.)
It would've been kinda neat, imo, if the gear was available to everyone but the weapons were ilvl 113 and you had to full party in an instance fight against Lightning. XD Ah well...![]()
Actually, I believe the 1.0 version allowed us to equip any item regardless of 'optimal level', it just scaled the stats down...
I personally think the congestion would be less severe if they spread the FATEs out over more zones. Seriously, 2 FATEs in 2 zones for a server wide event??? When I tried to do the FATE, there were so many people that I couldn't lock onto anything, if I did the enemy would be dead before I could use an ability and I couldn't even see Lightning fighting. And we shouldn't have to "give it a bit of time." Just put 10 Lightning FATEs in 10 zones and I think the problem would be less severe >.>
And it got changed because people complained about another people running around in lv50 Dodore Doublet with a lv 10 class.
It was against the immersion or something like this.
I agree with the whole idea of introducing a massive FATE knowing the issues they had with Odin/Behemot is a bad idea, but, can you really think in a instanced event for it? For the whole server? I don't think that would work either. The FATE system is more flexible when it comes to introducing dynamic/temporal events in Eorzea. Also, guys, you must consider that this event will be up until December. All those FATE's and quests will remain active until that date, all the chapters will be overpopulated as they appear and the previous ones are doable because everyone already did it.
Square Enix already produced a full retail-priced game to try and achieve this very purpose. It's called "Final Fantasy XIII: Lightning Returns". Kitase even stated one of the principal design tenets of the game is to make people who previously disliked Lightning like her. Fortunately, for some of us, no matter what they do, it will never work. I can't stand her and I'm steadfast on that opinion.
Back on topic: The events run over a set period for the very purpose of channeling congestion. Leave it a couple of days, go do the first FATE in the chain etc. Next one a few days after that comes out and so on. I knew the inevitable overcrowding would happen and stayed away. It's common sense. You don't NEED to do the content asap. In fact, you could take advantage of things that are normally crowded or over-farmed whilst this event is going on...
I have both a job AND a family. I can only play a few days a week and maybe an hour each of those days. I am currently level 29 and will definitely NOT be 45 or whatever for the last quest. I am completely bummed out by this. Why do these events always screw over people like me?
I finally found her:
Sorry, I forgot to hide the UI but I was in a hurry becuase I didn't know how long I was going to see her. Nice detail from SE to reproduce "Blinded by light" while the boss fight was active. Too bad it lasted less than a minute...
