    This I agree with. The way areas like WP are all instanced instead of open some being open area dungeons like The Temple of Ugly was in XI is to me problematic. The game needs ruins with hidden wonders that you can explore without needing to gather four people and follow a set routine. I'm not saying the dungeon concept is wrong only that we need some of those ruins to be open areas. Those statues under high bridge are a good example. They should add a path down and put a doorway under one of them that leads to a temple zone with stuff that will challenge level 50s. Lore should be discovered by exploring them. There is a story behind the endless rise, and we don't learn it while doing WP. The dungeon crawl could be a prerequisite to activating the instance for the first time.

    I do think they will add more wilderness areas with time. Just like XI did at launch we have low level areas close to cities right now.

    Its not the WOW model failure . Its the end game fail of, hey lets grind fates to 50 then have no idea how to play my class. .3 seconds delay . Yup devs wont fix this. Oh you want variety in dungeons , nahh we will just give you WP/AK and that it. The worst part is oh you wana spend hours on your character . Thats cool . But at the end of the day you look like everyone else. ...THIS GAME IS TRASH END OF STORY.

    Every mmorpg that tried to imitate WoW success crashed and burned. SWOTOR? LOTRO? Terra? Aion? Do I have to go on? Wow-model is proved to not last in the long run, after an initial sale-boom, the subscriptions drop significantly and the developers are forced to go F2P.

    Sure, WoW still goes strong (though it starting to suffer its age), but it is pretty much the exception, no to mention how many years ago it launched.

    None of those games crashed and burned. Very few games in this genre have actually crashed and burned. Tabula Rasa, as an example, crashed and burned. All of the games you mentioned are still around and they are all still producing content. Presumably they are all profitable (or projected to be) otherwise they'd be shut down.

    FFXI was a piece of art, this game has no creativity and nothing to do. It is a poor copy-cat. I wish it wasn't, but it is what it is.

    We all know this and the peoples who say they don't, do, but using teh all magic rosey glasses to ignore it.

    This game crash and burned, and they had to scramble to fix it, and since 1.0 was ungodlike they went ahead
    and made a very safe and generic game. That is exactly what happened.

    Cool news is, they have room to improve because this game is so empty and just there it's not even funny.
    So they got room to move around and be creative.
    It is whether not the wanna do this sooner rather than later.
    I don't wanna fight Super Hardcore XXX Primal's every 5 patches...

    FFXI was fun in that aspect, yes. But it had it's own problems that I think people forget about. I think many games are always the most fun at the beginning when you are first discovering everything. Other than more content my only beef with the game is I never really get to explore the world that they've built unless I'm intentionally just running around looking for a good place to take screenshots. (farming too)
    I think some things they could do to fix this is make more useful things crafters can craft (so people have plenty of options of where to go to farm a monster for money or their craft) BUT they are so afraid of RMTs/Bots that the regulations they put in to prevent RMTs starts to affect players.
    We need more areas like Coerthas. It may have a teleport but that area is really big! It has a lot of run time between the town areas.
    tl;dr : No magic? No game. Play something else that makes magic for you. All you can do really.

    I just decided to quit this game, after spending the last 2 weeks playing a total of ~6 hours. I have a FC, currently at coil turn 4, & it's boring as hell...

    My gil just sinks to 12800, yes I know how to make money, but I just don't have any motivations to get it back up, cause I know I'll get my new gears from coil anyways.
    Crafting was a bit fun at first, but after that it's just a pain to get materials, & I always fall asleep after 30 mins of gathering...
    I think about leveling another role all the time, but then I remember the endless fates grinding days... not to mention WP/AK for DL gears, then relic...
    And all those failed runs from coil with my FC didn't bring me any fun either, only more & more frustration.
    And so today, I snapped. I intended to wait & hope for 2.1, but my patience ran out. Is this game worth the money & the time I spent on it? Yes. But for me it just not good enough to continue spending on any longer.

    I also have no intention of going back regardless of how many updates SE gives out, cause the game's core mechanic is too far from my taste. This will be my last post on this forum, hope you guys have a fun time staying on this game

    LOTRO was profitable before it went F2P. Turbine had a game that really was dying. D&D online was doing very poorly. They made it F2P as a last ditch effort to save it. They made 300% more revenue and more profit than they did when the game was first released. After that they pondered what would happen if they took their already profitable LOTRO and put in a similar model? LOTRO isn't like most other F2P games in that the F2P aspect is an illusion. You cannot progress through the entire game as F2P without grinding so hardcore that even asian grinders would blush. You have to buy "quest areas." "expansions" and even "Features." in order to move on. It was more of an extensive tutorial with a hook that required purchase for additional playtime. On top of this they also added in the typical cash shop items. I don't know if it's changed since then but if it hasn't you can't just log on LOTRO and progress 1-70 without a massive grind. Not entirely relevant in your post but I thought that this would be useful information. LOTRO wasn't forced to go F2P they chose to go F2P thinking it was simply the better payment option money wise and their F2P is an illusion.
