BARD GEAR (BEST IN SLOT PRE Binding Coil of Bahamut)

I have a bard and I am farming my butt off in AK between that and DL gear what is the most beneficial for us bards?

Head= DL
Neck = DL
Body = Toxtotes ( Will have Bard Body Next Week YaY!!!)
Legs = Toxtotes
Feet = Toxtotes (Soon To be DL)
Hands = Toxtotes (because DL looks like garbage to me)
Ring 1 = DL
Ring 2 = Toxtotes
Bracer = DL
Earring = DL

Weapon= Garuda's Spine (If you can get it drop I can't ffs)

If there any suggestions please feel free to share them. Thank you in advance

Pre Coil is w/e honestly. Get your DL, get your relic wep. True BiS is a mixture of crafted gear(gryphon, militia) that's melded and some DL, but for the most part i wouldn't aim for it unless you're on legacy.

if you can manage to drop some accuracy for a better piece then go for it though as our DL is itemized like shit.

Thank you and I forgot to mention. What is best to gear yourself for Bindiing Coil. I'm on a non legacy server so crafters are not there yet and I am working on my relic but still haven't had any luck with Garuda or Ifrit Dropping a bow

I'm at 41 atm but im trying to inform myself as best i can so i dont waste time when i get to 50. I have heard the bow from gridania is really good and a lot of people are using it over the ifrit one. If posible can you elaborate on whats toxtotes and DL? Is the gear from the grand company good ?

GC gear? No. GC armor is crap.
GC weapon? Yes. The best GC weapon is good.
DL is darklight. Close to the best gear.
Toxotes is Amdapor Keep loot for Archers/Bards.

HQ Gryphon gear with 3-5 crit (savage aim IV) materia is far, far better than darklight or toxotes.

Of course, be prepared to pay 500k-1 million per piece ^^

I agree with everything posted if you exclude melded iLVL 70 crafts; frankly a pain for a temporary marginal improvement if you have an FC that can clear a few turns of Coil with some sort of regularity. DL body is worth getting over Toxotes, but it sounds like you're just holding off since Bard's Shirt is coming next week. That's fine, but if you are using a primal / GC weapon, I would definitely save your Mythology for Artemis Bow; the base WD gain is massive for damage, particularly at high levels of DEX. The question becomes closer when you're deciding between upgrading relic bow to Artemis +1 or getting Bard's Shirt. I did the drawn out math on a few scenarios in another thread floating around here.

HQ Gryphonskin Gear almost Mirrors Darklight Stats. There is typically 1 Stat that is different between the two, but the Quantity and Quality of those stats are comparable. Then you can slot 5 Materia to the Gryphonskin. It's very much superior, but it's going to cost you.

The only gear Definitively better than HQ Crafted Class Gear is AFv2 because it's Item Level 90 and Materia Stat caps prevent HQ Crafted from matching it's stats.

Edit: BTW, I have All HQ Gryphonskin except the new Hat, I'm not just talking bs.

Um, I've drooled over gryphonskin gear on the AH and contemplated using my life's savings to buy one savage aim materia IV, but thats the closest I've come =3

But if you compare the stats, he's right though. But as for farmed/tomestone gear, the breakdown in the first post is basically right.

Essentially, pick whatever has most crit, least accuracy, to minimize wasted stats.
