Yeah, uhh no. Was in a party for them, and I didn't get jack squat. The one with Lightning was the worst. At the time, nothing loaded up and the zerg finished fate in what, 7 seconds just about?

sounds like you a) didn't use any aoe (you basically HAVE to have blizzard II or flash for this one) and b) didn't turn off effects and nametags

alternatively you can of course wait a few days and hope people will have less interest in the fate

AoE'ing won't do anything if they don't even load. lol
I turned off what I could, though part of the issue is being on PS3.
It's like you said though, I'll just wait until there's less interest.

It's a starter quest that let any lowbie who just bought the game to participate in. It doesn't take that hard to clear it and you don't need even need to hit gold contribution. What's so flawed about having a piss easy intro quest to give out some free vanity gears for everyone?

Please don't even try to say that no one can clear it because it's so crowded like Behemoth and Odin. Even ps3 players and low spec pc can clear this quest and come back to farm for more parcel. Oh and bonus they give you 2 whole days before the next quest chain open up! Two whole days for you to choose a good 1 hour stretch to sit down and get all the rare items. Cool.

The point it's not about it being easy, it's that FATE system just isn't working, they have a plan to make it a bit better in the future, but right now it's just a huge pain in the ass, it being low level and easy just means that while Odin/Behemoth is catering only lvl 50s here you actually have a much bigger audience, making it even worse.

When you have tons of different features (quests, guildleves, guildhests, dungeons, trials) you don't chose to implement new temporary events using the only one that you know it's not working fine. I'm not saying no1 can clear it, obviously you can, but is it fun? can you actually see Lightning? This is just the worst implementation they could come up with for this event and I'm pissed cause while you can argue that with Odin/Behemoth they didn't expect the fights to turn out like this they totally knew how this was gonna work, they just chose to go this way.

This is what most people love to turn a blind eye at when defending a mechanic that's working poorly.

They coulda just spread it out like Summer event FATEs. Lightning has a unique model and everything and you can't see her past the zerg. It's a waste.

Hell, getting them to even load before the fate is over is the issue. (At least for me.)
Don't think blizzard 2 or flash is going to fix that.

Anyway, this event so far has been BS. Then again, I didn't expect much so I'm not disappointed.

I also have the advantage of playing from NZ on a US server. There were less than 30 people when I did the fate.

I did the fate for the first time at about an hour after the event started (at 9 o'clock), which was I think.. uh... 4 in the night on the US east coast (so even earlier in the other NA timezones)... and it was still a spamfest. I don't even want to begin to imagine what it will be like at EU prime time (in roughly 5-7 hours), much less US prime time. lol

I think I tagged just over half the fate mobs before I ran out of MP. Still got gold, even though I didn't mange to tag another one for the rest of the fate. I did exactly 0 damage. I also turned down the other players battle effects (which is located in a really weird place in the options, considering what it does).

On my server, I tried to attempt them a few times about an hour or two after the event started. Figured being the time that it was, most people would be asleep or otherwise offline... Boy, was I wrong.
