Thank you! It was the shared hotbar that was the problem! Works perfectly now. Thanks for the help!

You are completely correct in the example of BLM. That is actually how my BLM is setup. You can just use /chotbar change to flip between the two. I wanted to just post another example to try and help explain they idea of being able to use macros to copy crosshotbars within combat.
In regards to SMN tho, /chotbar copy I think is better. If you just use /chotbar change, because the hotbars 2,3 & 4 are hidden. If you use the quick change crosshotbar button, you would have to manually change it back to that bar. If you unhide the 3 hidden hotbars. Then In combat, you would have a total of 5 crosshotbars to cycle though. Three of which would be the same, just pet abilties different on 3 of them.
I did try achieveing this with /chotbar display command. But I found, every time I changed job/class. I would have to reset the properties of the hidden hotbars. This way, I know each job has 3 hidden bars, of which I alway know where they are and I can setups thing to pull from.

Thanks for the update. I am glad we got there in the end. Now its working. What do you think on it? Any ideas to tweek it so its any better?
I will tweek my guide tomorrow to add a note to check the shared crosshotbars in the main guide. Its just a bit late right now

I am open to questions, comments, suggestions and requests in regards to help with crosshotbar and/or macros.

Replace all the pet summon abilities on your crosshotbar with this macros both in combat and out of combat. And once you use the summon spell, crosshotbar 6 will be filled.
In which hot bar and how do you set macros on PS3? I have never done macros on this console.

And this isn't working for me. It's not copying to the empty hot bar 6.

EDIT: Never mind had to untick the shared bars. Now it works, though I'm making some modifications so it works better with how I like to play this is handy.

Thank you for the feedback. I will definitely have to update the guide.
I will be interested to know what modifications you make

Well, somewhat unrelated, it kinda hit me today, that I can do more with /chotbar change than just making simple bar changes depending on what I wanted to do. Before this, I had a setup where my set scroll button would scroll between set 1-2-3 in combat but have managed to condense most of my action sets for most of my combat classes into only using 2 sets without sacrificing too much (no multiple action macro with /wait nonsense). Even then I was able to macro in such a way that I'd stay on 1 bar for most of the time (e.g.: halone set/riot set, blm single target set/aoe set, etc)and pedal my triggers when I needed to toggle between set 1 and 2.

I've yet to test this outside fighting dummies but with liberal use of /chotbar change, I've managed to condense my pld, blm, war and mnk sets in a way that my set selection customization option in the menu only has set1 selected. 2 or 3 sets used with default set containing most openers (set scroll button is now only a reset to set1 button), a set that acts like a branching decision maker and an extra set if the class needs it. Sounds kinda confusing but if I did it right, I'd never need to switch sets manually in combat ever again, barring ham handed fumbles. Monk one is still missing some skills I dont use that would make min maxers angry/cry/omg though, but I'd adjust it more as I play with it.

    So, uh, pretty neat.

Go to Character Configuration > Hotbar Settings > Sharing. In the "Sharing" window under "Shared Hotbar", the only cross hotbar that needs to be ticked is "Hotbar 1". Everything else must be UNCHECKED. After that just follow everything in the OP and it will work. Please include this step in the OP to avoid further confusion. Good job, this really helped me and hopefully other in the near future.
