    Let me add onto that.

Sauramogue Champaign, Bibiki Bay, Qufim Island, Valkurm dunes, Eastern Altepa Desert, The Boyahda Tree for exp and skillups, People farming in Zitah some exp spots too. Yhoator/Yuhtunga Jungles, Things to do in Norg, Sea serpent grotto for some endgame stuff.

As far as endgame: Sky, Sea, ALL of the Campaign Areas. Some CoP Areas... there's too many to remember I forget LOL...

i really enjoyed Limbus/namis at 75 cap, id love to see something like these events added some day in this game, but instanced in 14 fashion not reserved zone nonsense like 11 was lol. I also enjoyed the "procing system" new namis has as well as abby, a neat content that required EVERY job, not just job favorites.. though i think 14 has the opportunity to make these content a bit better then 11..

Eeeh, i have fond memories of FFXI too..then after i quit i played another mmorpg, and never again i had that memories.
But not because they weren't good.
Because after FFXI i got the MMO mindset. After you get that, there's no turning back: every map it's not an adventure, it's a map. Every mob it's not a challenge, it's meat, sometimes money. That tower on the distance it's not a cool place to explore, but a empty tower not worth to pay visit.
So, sorry to break the bubble, but more often then not there memories are there because they were the first and not the best.

The things I don't want to see from 11 are.. The abysmally slow leveling system and needing to party up to grind mob after mob. A bunch of gear sets you "need" to carry around and switch to on a limb. Everyone standing around camping certain spots to get certain monsters. I also do not miss the linkshell drama regarding which LS has mpkers, which LS is teaming up with RMT, and some of the fights back and forth between rival shells. Do I think 11 is a bad game? No, but I don't want to see these kind of features. The moment it takes me 3 months to hit max level of constant play time is the moment I quit.

Amen. For me it's both Everquest and FF11 but now they've become games. For my wife it's LOTRO. I got some friends into this game that have never played an mmo before and to them this is the most "Immersive game world they've ever gamed in."

I agree with this, and I'd like to add that most of us aren't asking for a FFXI-2. Not everything it did was bad, yet people seem to close themselves to the possibility the moment the game is mentioned.

Guys, instead of shouting "this isn't FFXI-2!" over and over again, take a minute to listen to the good things it had, will you? You'll never know until you open yourself to the possibility. It's much like 1.0; even if some (or most) things were bad, not everything was.

14 copied a bunch of current MMO to make it appealing to a bigger audience, don't see the problem from borrowing what was good in XI spin things up a bit (and hopefully they keep taking stuff from their single player as well just like CT)

    game needs to stand out

They've realized if they want to keep their company afloat they need to attract a broader audience. How do you do that? Dumb down content, and make it easy. FFXI was too hard for most people. I liked it, but people thought it was too hard. I honestly miss it, I feel no sense of value or accomplishment from anything I do in this game. Maybe when I have all jobs to 50 and completely geared. That will prolly take the same amount of time as gearing one job in ffxi.

Not to mention all the dungeons and content feel like mini games. Youre inserted into a different world that can be queued for from anywhere. I miss running places, and nearly dying just trying to get there. I miss trains of mobs not letting up on chasing you until youre dead. I miss feeling frustrated from the difficulty of the game, that I can actually see improvements in everything I do after I get better gear! I WANT A BIGGER WORLD, right now it feels too small. It makes me want to quit.

    What is everyone's problem really?

They directly take Crystal Tower and other stuff from previous Final Fantasies.
Why would you exclude FFXI from that list, although I don't think they should copy 1:1 if they did.

FFXI had awesome versatile content, which also was cause of the way the progression worked. It was very horizontal.
Get your Byakko's Haidate from Sky, Homam from Limbus, Torques in Sea, Relic with Dynamis/Gil and AFv2 from Dynamis, D Ring and Ridill from Faf/Nid. etc etc
You had to do everything pretty much, nothing was meaningless.

In most other games including FFXIV it's like: Ok, you've reached the endgame, now do this dungeon and you get all your best gear. And then you're simply done.
And it gets really repetitive and boring really, because you'll always run the same content over and over.
Then when a patch hits you will abandon that content and move on to the next, replacing all your hard-earned gear.
It feels... kind of like all my acomplishments go to waste when the gear i got becomes 2nd rate stuff.
    That's the actual issue imo.

And personally i'd like some kind of competition between Free Companies like HNMs.
It seems rather liveless atm, and FCs mostly keep to themselves not caring about anyone else on the server.

Btw... to ppl saying this is FFXIV and not FFXI, that's true, but just take a look at the races.. orz

FFXI had a ton of good idea poorly implemented, when people ask ffxi-like content they ask for the good idea, hoping they'll get correctly implemented.

Maybe for non-essential occasional "World bosses," but not for serious content that I actually care about. The idea is, quite frankly, stupid.
even if SE make an exact copy of FFXI content you'd still be playing FFXIV because you still play with FFXIV gameplay and graphics
and FFXI was not only world boss.

proc is an other sample of poorly implemented good idea.
@first it looks good because you need several job but it ended with 4job able to do all procs and the 16other totally useless.
VW actually needed most job but they were just siting out of AoE waiting their proc is called, not playing their job
