It's true that new MMOs have to deal with the bugs and stability issues but I haven't seen SE say anything in regards to compensation.Maintenance is a part of any MMO. I am ok with it happening. But when you are doing maintenance this often and during peak times (at least in PST/PDT), you are going to raise questions. At the minimum, SE should provide a little information on customer-affecting tasks being addressed such as performance improvements, fixing exploits, fixing security holes, etc.
