Privacy concerns - Lodestone

Are there any plans to add more privacy options to the lodestone?
It is pretty much displaying everything, and I can't seem to find any options to limit this.
I would like something akin to "share with friends", "friends of friends", "everyone" etc.

While it is not a big deal as such with the current amount of information, more could potentially be added in the future, and it is a matter of principle that I get to decide what I wish to share with everyone else. It is simply no one else's business unless I see the need to share it for whatever reason.

I can only hope the information you post on your account is all relevant to the game... Otherwise, your just asking for something completely unnecessary.

The only thing i posted on the lodestone are the lyrics to a tune from snow white related to mining. What I address is all the information about our characters that is posted automatically by the system.

I care because I don't come from a police state, in my nation the right to privacy is considered a core value, and I value my privacy. To some sharing everything on facebook and the likes is the most natural thing in the world. To others, like me, it is not. It is a subjective preference, even related to purely ingame matters.
You do not need to know, do you? As such, I should not have to have it on display.

There should be an option to "opt out", beyond not playing the game for those who care, don't you think?

It's understandable why you value your privacy, trust me I do too... which is why I'm saddened that my government (USA) is starting to stray towards internet censorship, and watching everything you do. But as far as FFXIV information... The fact that someone can see your in-game achievements if they choose to do so shouldn't bother you. This is information that is irrelevant to anyone, and quite honestly I don't see what people can do with such information. : /

Well, my concern stems from the following:

1, Principle, it should be up to me to decide who gets to see what I am up to. If the information is irrelevant to anyone, why do they need the option to see it? It should not be technically difficult to limit what information is publicly displayed on that webpage.

2, logs of my ingame activities give a pretty good idea of what I was doing when I was doing it. Which while yes, the probability of this being put to any nefarious use is slim, nonetheless, it really is none of anyone else's business.

3, I assume a lot of people here played MMORPGs in the past, and probably a lot played XI too. And most likely everyone knows someone who had their account hacked into. While most of these hackings were probably "hackings" where relevant info was voluntarily shared, or social engineering in general, and I do have a token, I have no interest in making myself a target. What happens the day they introduce more achievements dealing with loot/gil etc? (if they do of course)

1.) It's SE choice as the developer; just as it's your choice to sign up for the game or sign up for facebook.
2.) The achievements on the lodestone are NOT updated immediately. They can take hours or days to show up.
3.) I don't even.. how would someone seeing your achievements compromise your account in anyway? Ah he has 10 level 50's... his account much be 10level50s@email.com and password 108485810gil

There noting wrong with showing that type of information i use it all the time to know what class people have when i invite them to my linkshell/partys it give information to see what they done and what they know. I don't see a issue with this at all no one really going to see your info 24.7

and people can't prove wrong.
