If nobody groups when groups are not forced, what does that really say about people and grouping?
Solo's fine so long as it doesn't detract from group play. Grouping together should always yield more benefits than simply soloing. It's the whole point of group play.
You don't see more groups in this game because of the horrible way organizational tools are set up, as well as slow respawn rates on most mobs + base sp weirdness. That and fail leve's pretty much dominates. There's no real reason to go out and do groups like you saw in 11 right now.
Where the horsebirds at?!

What i dislike about people who solo is when you ask them to party to do leves they say no i'm soloing -.- also have this happen to you in ffxiv? my gf /tell a person who soloing that she going to give him/she full set of gear for her/his level and the person said no thanks o.o what have this world come too that ppl don't want free stuff.

Some people like to earn everything they have. I would say no thank you if someone wanted to give me free armor too. I would add that it was a very generous thought and that I'm sure someone else would love it.

I dunno, I've seen groups(not full) turn down or ignore people asking to leve-link at camps too.(Some saying "LS only" or somethin') I've seen countless threads from new players with titles such as "Does anyone talk in this game??" because they ask for some minor help and get nothing. Big linkshells can split up into little cliques ignoring others. Or some only talk to the cool "Vent" people. That's just some examples. All apparently acceptable mmo behavior.
But the solo person is being rude because he's not really busy is he? = D
That's part of what the OP was gettin' at. Before things got sidetracked.

Actually solo players are accepted it is the hardcore players don't want the content of the MMO or game they are playing to be altered because of the casual players. That is why the content should be more distinguishable and separated in ways that solo players don't effect the hardcore players and the hardcore players don't effect the solo players, except maybe in the economy only.

This is completly false and the other way around.Actually solo players are accepted it is the hardcore players don't want the content of the MMO or game they are playing to be altered because of the casual players. That is why the content should be more distinguishable and separated in ways that solo players don't effect the hardcore players and the hardcore players don't effect the solo players, except maybe in the economy only.
Hardcores want content for both, casuals want all content designed for them.
The 2nd part is right though, we need content for both that do not effect each other.
This is completely false and don't say your opinion is right over mine. I consider myself a hardcore player and that is simply how I see it.

Both true really.
Hardcore want hardcore content, casuals want casual content. Soloists want solo content, group players want group content.
We all want what entertains us, and to keep our interest in what we admittedly 'want' to be interested in (or we wouldn't be here) we want our kind over any other.

Your casual use of this phrase is entirely my point. Soloers are not diseased, we are not lepers, we do not need to be "accepted" no more than groupers need to be accepted. We play the game the way we enjoy it most, just as groupers play the game the way they enjoy it most.
It says the same thing that lead MMO's are saying by making a large quantity of solo content. That there are a lot of people (I dare say the silent majority) that want to solo and are willing to pay for a quality solo friendly MMORPG.
That being said, there are rare instances where I think it would just be wrong to scale down. For instance a solo player should not be able to solo Bahamut as the process of scaling down Bahamut himself would destroy the concept of a supremely powerful being. (And I mean actual scaling, not soloers exploiting game mechanics which is another topic entirely). I also feel that there should be instances that force you to go at it solo, to prove your individual worth. But these are more of the exceptions, rather than the rule, and I think (so far as I can tell) that FFXIV does a great job at this. This thread is not (and never was) intended to dispute any functionality in FFXIV, just explain a soloers rational.
Edit: To all those who hold the "soloers are just anti-social" view point, chew on this: I would gladly join a like minded LS to chat with fun and entertaining people while I solo. Just because I do not want to form a party except for rare occasions, doesn't mean I don't enjoy a pleasant conversation, it makes the world a little more lively (and one of the reasons a soloer plays an MMORPG).
