    ANYWAY back on topic.

I think we settled a few things though.
1 no one truely hates solo'ers.
2 those who do, do infact have a valid reason.
3 it is best to see both sides of the same coin when it comes to the solo stigma.
4 that there are different types of mmo, solo, group and social. And to buy an mmo that fits you style.
5 understand when joining a group mmo, there will be content for both, but will be more infavor or grouping.
6 content can't be both solo and group. or at least it is hard to pull off. If something is solo able ppl will solo it as there is no need to group And tell ppl there is no reason group to just solo it.

[QUOTE=options;156012]Its not just about interaction. Its a persistent gameworld, its to kill shit, its craft, gather, dungeons, grinding, farming and much more. When you finish a SP game it ends, thats it or untill there is an addon or a sequal. An MMO you can keep going. Its a genre and all kinds of ppl play it. And the same person might play it in a different style depending on their mood. I may want to just grind 1 mob one day just to get a specific item off of it, then another day i might wanna group up and do dung runs. Other days i may just stand in the one spot and chat away to friends for hours.
    [/Qoute]

I'm the same way 60% of the time on ffxi i was running around aimlessly chatting to me LS (while waiting for an invite ) 10% was hanging with my then b/f the other 30% was soloing (forced but sometimes wanted) idm different play styles or more options just not a solo'er joining and demanding the choice to solo group content. (not saying this was op stance or every solo but some did act this way)

So far this game has solo content only (if you count leves as content then maybe a little group content).

I don't count pure grinding mobs as content, if so , then thats the only group content we have.
Missions are SOLO only, Class quests are SOLO only, crafting ofc is SOLO only, and quests are also for soloers.
The game has nothing to offer for groups.

For a solo rpg ffxiv so far lacks everything ... thank god there are still nice solo rpgs out now that i didnt play yet...
I DO hope ffxiv gets an mmorpg and doesnt stay an online solo-rpg with group leveling... *sigh*
(dungeons wont cut it... has to me so much more)

This game needs a lot of GOOD solo content, and a lot of GOOD group content

I hope it has more group based content than solo based content, because I don't play an MMORPG to do what I can in offline titles.

Tolerance and understanding, If only people would this in game we wouldn't be arguing among each other as to who is better or less arrogant or intolerant of each other in game.

Sadly I had seen both sides of the coin for soloer in and groupers that have had both great people, and people that are about as bad a bad can get when i comes to communication and treating others as dirt.

Some people no matter what role they play in game will end up being jerks no matter what you do or don't do to them, but still your going to run into great people and bad apples all the time sadly this one of the many aspects of online gaming.

One should always remember each and all of us has feeling and we are all human and as such humans will be human and have good an bad each and every one of us, as such and everyone one of us also has our own preferences and opinions.

Now in my personal experience I have seen more of this intolerance on the groupers side with demands galore which is why I usually avoid groups for the most part at lease from my personal experience.

But on the same token I have seen soloers that have behaved badly in chat as well from time to time be it froma bad day in real life or bad mood or other reason who can say.

Sadly no matter where you go game wise where people can connect there will always be good and bad apples on either side that play the game in multiples way.

While we should be more tolerant and understanding of each other I have seen in the majority of even this thread people bash each other over and over from both sides of the fence.

Though it should be noted for a game like final fantasy xiv and most mmos each day is different and each person is different while it was well stated by another poster it should be mentioned again.

We all do what we want in game at any given time sometimes that means a person only solos all the time be its crafting, gathering, or killing mobs while another might group up part of the time and spend the other part relaxing gathering what have you alone.

Diversity and tolerance is the only way this game and game community as a whole in my opinion, along with the developers trying to fix and improve the game will allow it to recover and grow.

Always remember we are all different and all have our ups and downs, as such I am sure if you have a good LS even soloers and groupers will talk a lot in it I know I do and many others do that both solo and group all day long or so something in between if it only to get on to chat with LS friends.

But still without tolerance and community the game a whole can not grow, and as such I hope that SE continues to keep a diverse strategy from improving the game a whole so that people from all walks of life can enjoy the game as they see fit.

Actually parlay is a feesable with in the time period SE set. More so with LLs lore of being a pirate town. I like the fact a person can brib a mob which would happen in a real instance using a few lore bits this game got. Pretty much
Gridania are pasifist and would make peace offerings instead of fighting (as a crafter or gather)
While LL is a pirate down and it is a brib to save ones skin
Similar with the syndicate ran Ul'dah but under a mafia sounding theme
    :P

Well that is the way I see things.

tbh i'm shock the OP has replied for a while.

I don't see the fun in soloing everything. Oblivion is a single player RPG, I spent PLENTY of time playing that....
Another thing, why PAY a monthly fee if you aren't doing anything with anyone except getting occasssional updates, MOST that you have to continue to buy? That's beyond me really...

I think what the soloers mean is they like to generally socialize, but want to be represented in future content if they choose to solo. With scalable yet challenging instances. The debate is over why MMOs do not do this with all of their content.

This post isn't a defense to them or a nod to players who like their group play. It's just a reminder of what the freakin debate is since it's gone so off track.
