I think this is a great idea, would prevent FC's from using rmt to buy their gil at the last second to fund their purchase of a house. Something this big should be a reward for your hard work and effort, not handed to you for having the real money to buy in game money.

Dislike. Our FC is new and has 122 people but we're more casual so we only have 100k credits saved but plenty of gil.

And our FC has been together since early beta (as a LS and FC the minute we could make one), has over 350 active members, rarely less than 40 working together on things at any given hour of the day.

I fail to see the issue.

+1 to OP for a grand idea.

Gil for personal and FC points for FC housing sounds great.

    Great idea

I think would be an amazing way to use free company points as at the moment they seem to have very little use. It would also help keep the economy on an even keel. Great idea DC keep them coming

Uhm did you not read what I said? We have 120+ members, ~30 active each day. We don't have 500k points saved up but plenty of members and gil.

I like the idea, but I think this is the way to go about it if it's done.

The purchase of the house should not solely rely on the company credits. You keep saying "larger and more active FC's" should get the bigger houses...

No one in you FC has to even log in to get credits, they just have to be IN it. I have 80 members in my FC that has been around since right after EA finished. Probably 40 of them decided not to sub because they haven't logged in in about 1-2 months. I still keep them in the FC because it helps my credits build up. They don't contribute anything at all. I like your idea, but you are promoting it as if the player base will be encouraged to become more active with each other in order to build up enough credits, when that just isn't the case. If this idea is implemented, you will have FCs that just go to towns and start recruiting every lowbie they find to build their ranks, because that person doesn't need to do anything at all to help the FC get credits.

I do agree with your pricing being fair. My FC has about 350k credits, would maybe have 500k if we didn't buff everyday? But that's the other problem with that... this idea blatantly halts any buffs being put on your FC until you have a house bought. You can argue that the buffs don't do much, or that most of them are pointless. The fact is, though, the buffs can be very helpful especially the spiritbinding one and the XP for less than lvl 50 classes. Can 2 million credits even be attained in the time frame given? If an FC has 512 members I would be curious to know if their rate of credit gain is more than an FC that only has 100 members. Even still, a system that is unattainable to even reach by the time housing comes out isn't feasible. It certainly wouldn't go over well with the community, either.

And your point about having enough gold for personal homes...

I only just started really putting my mind to making money about a month ago and I have made well over 3 million gil in that time. Seeing as how the earliest we will get personal housing is 6 months after FC housing is out, I fail to see how anyone won't have enough money to buy their own home. You don't have to craft to make money. I made over 2/3 of my 3mil selling philo items from simply running dungeons.

I know I kind of pointed out a lot of flaws with this idea, but I really do like the concept behind it. I just don't think it will work well due to the things I mentioned.

Yes, I do not like this idea for the most part.

Smaller FCs (like mine) would have a giant disadvantage if you make housing cost solely via FC points. Utilize the price range you have listed, we wouldn't even make the small house price by the time of the update (sitting at 335k FC Points), and I started my FC 2 days after release. It would force smaller FCs to have to migrate to the larger FCs just to have a taste of the larger houses. Also, anyone just starting their own FCs couldn't possibility accumulate that many FC points in a respectable amount of time on their own. No thanks.

Where I do see potential of utilizing FC points in this instance would be to help mitigate the prices, but please do not let it cost FC points outright. For example, 5-50 FC points = 1 gil. But directly towards housing cost, not a direct gil exchange.

we have 2,900,000 points and we kick in-actives weekly. we had 1 million points in the first month which is easily attainable by a moderate sized free company with semi active members we are just a casual free company. Recruiting low level players should be encouraged to help them out and keep the blood fresh expand your and their experiences of what community is about and working with people from different cultures and regions as it is the meaning behind mmo's is working as a community. I wasn't aware of gaining points for inactivity members as we remove them from our group if they return at a later date we re-invite them to our free company but we always try to maintain active members and community. The patch won't be out for about a month you should be able to easily be able to get 1 mil points are retain 24/7 experience buffs we have been able to since launch. If the inactivity points gain is true i really hope that SE changes that. What I was informed and believed was the points were gained through fates, dungeons experience gained through battle, gathering and crafting and still believe that.

the points were just a reference to work with not a set in stone number just an idea
SE could take a gauge and examine the free company housing credits people have and gauge it accordingly so could be 250k/500k/1 mil for example
SE also stated that there will be free company quests coming out so possibly free companies would also gain free company credits similar to how we gain seals in fates for example.
