I love the FFXI idea of requiring a quest to unlock the level cap. It always felt like I actually accomplished something and I would be sad if it fell to the side.

I'm sure that Job system wont be about leveling. And I'm sure Job system will be closely connected with dangeons, raids and other new content.Job system wont be leveling up from R1, it'll most definitely be more like say a Conjurer Rank 30 unlocks WHM, you would be a Conjurer specialized as White Mage, R30. It just amplifies the class you're playing as in the direction you specialize as (so in this case you would become a more efficient healer at the expense of say nuking), that's it. That is what many people on the forums are guessing anyway by the sound of it, but we'll see when its released however it could be completely different but I doubt it'll be R1 "advanced jobs" so to speak.

I hope they make a new quest series for each class every 5 ranks like it was in FFXI <3
Well I'd like to see a cap that stays "max" for a long time like FFXI's 75 so I won't feel like I'm wasting money for HQ gear that'll be useless in 6months.
Oh! and I want better looking gear than the mediocre gear we have now.
Considering rank 32 is about half way to 40 and 39.5 is half way to 50 we can expect 50 to be roughly half way to 60 and 60 be roughly half way to 70. So I think the pace of levelling right now is fine. Fast to 50 with slow cap increases afterwards.
Grinding to 70 sounds like a pain given that, but they will only increase the cap in 10s at most per increase and they don't want people grinding to the new cap in a week. Plus by then we'll have new leves, behests and other forms of levelling so that 110k to reach 51 will take considerably less time than that 100k did to reach 50.
Crafting is where it will get difficult, because we'll be skilling up on expensive mats that don't drop like candy. People will be forced to pick one unless they want to burn their wallets trying to rank up multiple. Bot crafting will be less appealing then too because they're already throwing away tonnes of gil by skilling on things you can spam standard on when a normal player can be getting twice that SP on something harder. But this is the direction I want crafting to go. It's stupid having everyone with all crafts maxed trying to get their paws in every market.

I'd like to see the return of the genkai quests personally, I thought they were interesting and gave you something else to do other than level.
Maat being feared and respected by most classes was excellent... Obviously a little too hard for some (Poor Red Mage) and a little too easy for others (Hai! Ninja!) - but it was a fun addition to the game and I really enjoyed doing it, even just for fun when I done it already.
Square Enix stressed these aren't "advanced jobs" but more like specializations. I could be wrong however, but I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you...it has nothing to do with free handouts, its just a system and that's how its built and that's how they probably deem it best to be fitted. This said, from where I'm sitting a lot of people on the forum seem to think it'll be just specializations but I may be wrong about that too. I guess no point in arguing about this now we'll just wait for the next producer letter maybe it'll explain a little more, its due out before the next patch I believe since he mentioned he'll be showing off the auto attack and how its going to work.
They don't have enough content for ranks 1-20 let alone 1-50 I think it's premature to talk about level cap issues.
