Praetorium's music

I know the song that plays during Praetorium is from a previous final fantasy game, or at least is sampling a song from a previous FF game, and it bugs me every time I hear because I can not for the life of me place it. I want to say FF1, but I'm not positive.

Anyone have any clue? It's really recognizable when the trumpets first stop playing about 2 minutes into the song.

IDK, possible. But It sounds to me like one of the songs that was updated for the PS version of FF1 was either rearranged for it, or just sampled.

I have the song, and have listened to it for hours. However, I have not noticed any reference to an earlier FF game in there. (I own the OST to all of the games save 12/13). Doesn't ring a bell. Does sound nice though.

I have to agree with Reokudo - I just listened to the track in question (you can find it on Youtube easily enough), and I didn't recognize any past FF theme in there. It sounds like Soken was trying for Uematsu's style (lots of electronic pop instruments and bells), but the actual melody was original and unique.

I was getting kind of a Giant of Bab-Il vibe from it. Similarly, the 1.0 Mor Dhona music reminded me of the lunar surface music in IV.

This bothers me too. It's such great music, but... It feels familiar and I can't place it. Bugs me to no end. Maybe it's just so "final dungeon" that we're imagining having heard it before.

You guys are actually right, the music is from a FF game; This game.

It's remixed elements from other songs in the game (Halitali intro for some reason there's no youtube of the music) , and it's fantastic!

The Coil also makes use of Answers and This song, and it's all done masterfully. Soken earned some major respect from me for how well he's done in this game.
