Friend cannot post anywhere on the forums

Details:
Posting for a friend since he can't. He registered back in beta, and logged in today to post in the technical support forums. He has a level 50 and has a character selected. Any forum, including technical support, he tries to post in he gets an error that states:



He had posted on the beta forums in the past without issue.

Has your friend's account lapsed due to a subscription issue? From what I understand you need to keep your subscription active on the forum in order to post - if you have an issue with your payment method and your account is suspended, sadly you lose posting privileges on the forum until the issue is fixed.

Maybe I have a solution to this... Maybe your friend just need to "update" his Lv in the Forum... I just did it and it works, just go to your Profile and Reselect the main character and the class you want to Display as your Main (Lv50) and save the changes...

It's active, he's playing the game as we speak.

Okay, after rereading your original post, I think I've realized what your friend's problem is:

Your friend might have registered for the Beta Forum back during the Beta test, but from what I can gather, he has not registered here on the Lodestone Forum - this is a completely different forum from the old Beta forum with separate accounts. Hence he doesn't have an actual Lodestone Forum account - if his FFXIV service account is active it's a simple matter to register (a forum account is tied to your FFXIV account), but the meat of it is, a Forum account is optional for players and hence has to be created manually. Participating in the Beta test doesn't grant access automatically either.

So yeah, tell your friend to sign up here on the Lodestone (it will ask him to login with his SE Account details as a part of the process), and then he should be able to start posting here.
