Instead of a 24hr lockout.. they could do something like a stat reduction for X amount of time for quitting too much... but then again they would probably just re-enter with crap stats and troll until it wears off <_<; or maybe make them unable to DF on that job/class for a while?

I don't see why I should get a 24 hr ban for leaving a dungeon when the tank used fate to lvl and has no idea how to hold hate on more than one mob at a time letting the rest eat us alive or do to the fact that our healer is a bot or a second char the tank is also controlling, having dps purposely pulling large groups to wipe us and then blaming the tank for not doing his/her job, the tank has no idea how to marks so you have to sit for 3 minutes between pulls so they can slowly mark them, oh my the list is long.

I never insta-quit but there is no reason I should waste 90 minutes of my life because Im in a group with one of the above or all the rest I could list just so I can save myself from being locked out for 24 hrs. The trolling in DF is bad enough, this would just make it worse

Sorry man, if a group is just plain bad, or some douchebag wants to start screaming and calling names. I'm leaving. Sometimes I only have time for one quick DF run, and I won't spend that time with a stressful group.

I don't like quitters but I'm sure there're no place in hell reserved for anyone just because they quit playing some video games.

I think it depends... If after a couple tries.. it seems hopeless.. I don't see whats wrong with quitting.. or if the energy of the party is bad.. i.e... lots of smack talking.. I don't see whats wrong with quitting.. Some parties you can tell.. it won't work.. so why beat a dead horse.

Where I do have a problem with it.. is when someone quits after one or two tries.. and it seemed possible to beat.. On Garuda HM we were so close.. and after the fail.. someone quit.. that is what I don't agree with..

In FFXI.. you EXPECTED to fail a couple times... wasn't a big deal..

I don't hate quitters as much as I just feel sorry for them. Was running SV for the first time last night and we wiped on the first boss (my fault). Dude up and leaves instantly rather than give it another go.

Got it together after that tho and banged out a quick run through the rest, pretty dang good considering that only 1/4 of us had done the dungeon before. No problems with other bosses at all.

Why'd the guy leave so quick? By the time he waited through his 15 min queue we were practically done with the rest of the dungeon. People have no patience at all....

You can't kick AFK players out. A few members of my FC and I were doing Praetorium last night for story purposes and one of the tanks AFKed from the start. So the rest of us left rather than try to defeat all of the bosses in that dungeon with just one tank. And it's not like Praetorium is even a good dungeon for farming tomes. I think in a situation like that I'd rather take the 15 minute penalty than waste a lot more time only to fail at the end.

Supposedly there will be a "vote to kick" option added at some point. So that people can remove a problem player rather than leave themselves. Won't fix all or even most situations, but a few. For example: You're a tank in a low traffic dungeon. 1 person in your party is really bad. You cannot hope to succeed while this person is in group. If you leave, the whole group is done because there won't be another tank with "Join in Progress" in a reasonable amount of time. Vote to kick would give possibility to keep the run going.

Also, the whole leaving thing is vast majority caused by Duty Finder. Easy to join, people you'll likely never meet again, thus easy to leave. Join a FC/LS group and leaving like that almost never happens.
