    Idea Concerning PvP

So a few minutes ago some FC mates and I were talking about PvP and How the gear system may work. I know I'm not the only one here who hates having to PvP grind for a separate set of gear. If I don't do it in a quickly fashion I may as well give up. So there being the Morale stat on the Character page. So I suggested that the Morale just be based of off your average item level that way your not throwing your PvE gear out the window. I feel like its a good idea. I'd like to hear what some of you think.

there is pvp gear, there are pictures and it looks pretty badass. I don't know about your idea though. If you enjoy pvping then you will do it several times, if you do it several times you will get currency for gear, if you get gear you win more and you get more currency so you can get more gear.

PvP gear is needed in my eyes. Not just for the "Morale" but also greatly needed for balancing. Some classes are too OP in pvp and others are too weak. What happens is, the stats are balanced out by making people get pvp gear. However, why would we get PvP gear if we can have PvE gear with stats that are better for our class/job? The answer to that is Morale. By making morale a neccesary stat for PvP, it forces people to pick up the pvp gear. However, when 2.1 comes out... theres gonna be alot of imbalance cause no one is wearing pvp gear at the start.

Anyways, im not saying this is the only form of balance. It is one of many forms and skills will be introduced just for pvp to create more balance between the classes/jobs.

Also, PvP i believe needs its own unique progression. While you can play PvP for "fun" alot of people won't enjoy it if there is no form of progression to show your hard work. Ranked PvP gear gives people something to work forward to aswell.

Ya know I know where you're coming from. I started MMO at 2004 Vanilla-WoW. I had the best end game gear possible, and it was awesome, I wrecked tons of faces in PvP. Sure the best PvP gear was certainly top notch, but the very tip top best was acquired in the newest PvE dungeons, so when the expansion came around that introduced Resiliance (a Morale persay), I was a bit stiffed that my PvE gear which I rated soo long and hard to get was now useless to this "other-gear." And so there was tons of issue about this new PvP stat and the uselessness of PvE gear that followed (although it wasn't a few expansions later that PvE gear was total trash in PvP). I work soooooo hard for this endgame gear and to not be able to show it off in PvP really blows, but it really blows for people that don't raid at all, dont' PvE, and have to subject themselves to play with our endgame gear. I dunno it's a back and forth topic, I have my wishes, but i needs to be fair in the end.

You should never, under any circumstances, be able to obtain PvP gear through PvE. Period.

Going by OP's suggestion, you'd be able to PvE it up all day every day and then just waltz into PvP with all best in slot gear simply based on item level. Horrible, horrible idea.

Can we apply your "I don't want to earn gear" suggestion to PvE too?

My only problem with tiered PvP sets is that if you start even a week later than everyone else, you basically can't win until you've lost enough to pick up a basic set.

Id rather a tiered appearance on PvP sets, rather than tiered stats. Get a basic set, earn currency via PvP to make it look better. PvP needs to be about skill, not who had the most time to grind up the best set.

Rating requirement solves that. Better people gets better gears.
