Requesting +1 weapons when you yourself don't even have a relic

There have been people on our server looking for members to pug Titan, and the requirement is that you already have your relic.

in other words carry me please, but really why shout to be carried this way when I am 100% sure they could just ask those in their FC or LS.

Just form your group and have fun! WP can be done in in ilvl 50 gear and AK in ilvl 55. They're both so easy that's not even a prob. :P

Yeah, I rarely "join" a group now unless they are doing the dungeon as non-speed and no gear req. I ran into this today:

No response, so I figure someone beat me to the pm and they invited them. About 2 min later I see in shout...

Somebodies Name: LF DD in WP

I again send the person
/t "BLM"

Again no response, so I'm like...this dude must not want a DD bad that's twice I have responded to him. So another min or two go by, and I see: (also note this is not a speed run)

Somebodies Name: LF +1DPS for WP
And my response to the guy for the third time was...

/t are you so dense to not invite a dd? This is WP I don't need to spell out that I have a +1 for you, but for your information I do have it, I'm a blm, and you can take me or not, idc, but it's your loss.

Then an invite to party pops up on my screen, and I accept and off we go into WP. Yep you guessed it leader and healer - he did not have his relic or a +1 AND we wiped at the first pull where the buzzards are...when myself and the other blm had +1 and the tank had relic. Granted the guy had a Garuda weapon, but still...asking for something they don't even have then derping on the first pull?

This isnt a one time occurrence - people all the time ask for gear when they don't have it. Others mentioned Titan being a big culprit. Shoot I got kicked from a party for Garuda when I was full left side DL geared and zircon jewelry...Garuda for crying out loud.

Or maybe they already have their relic and want to make sure to get another (or their 7th). Serious, people are free to play with whoever they want, under their own term if they're the ones organizing their groups. This saturday, when my gf and I were starting with our Titan Hm tries, she got kicked from a group because she had the Ifrit Staff instead of the Garua Wand. She didn't come to the forums to cry about being excluded from one group, we put together our own group and got the garuda wand out of fun and then we we killed Titan this monday. Without any tear. We made our terms, we even brought a fellow with iLVL55 weapon for Titan, othr with full DL, all we asked were experience with p5 (didn't even have to have killed the boss, since we hadn't yet!).

Don't like the requirements to join someone else group? Make your own. It sucks to be excluded, but getting all upset and making threads about it won't change their minds.

+1, I also love those that think saying lfg titan "78th billion relic" really thinks players will invite them faster

Because it will get them a group faster. People would rather take someone who has cleared the content before, than one who hasn't.

still always a good laugh at those that are on say their 7th relic and die before someone who is on their 1st. Quality of the player > quantity of relics (which pretty much take nothing to acquire)

Of course the quality of the player matters. But assuming you know nothing other than how many relics a person has, the one with 7 obviously has more experience than the one with none, and is therefore a safer bet when making a group, and as such is likely the higher quality player.

Just wanna clear something up. The people shouting for Titan with relics are farming or they are rotating mains with relic quest alts for each member.

6k HP on a WAR isn't a lot. Might be enough for Titan but you'd be relying a hell if a lot on your healers. Full DL with Garuda and I have over 7.1kHP on my WAR.

I do agree that people farming dungeons requesting higher ilevel players to make it easier for them is a bit of a joke though.

I don't understand how this is a problem. This happens in all games, this is nothing new. If someone wants to form their own group with arbitrary requirements that they don't even meet themselves, let them. It has zero impact on you unless you wanted to join their group and they rejected you, in which case they probably did you a favor anyway.

Why shout for Relic +1? Is the difference between relic and relic +1 massive enough?

I just lvled a mule character to 50 and I gotta say it's crazy how bad XIV community is for new comers. Just getting Darklight is an experience that would drive me to quit the game unless I'd have my original character with all 50s. You need to do so many runs and people will shout with crazy requirements for WP and AK runs. I have a relic on my mule but have not gotten much darklight yet so when I join a party more often than not I get examined and kicked right away. SE really needs to take a look at the early endgame and fix it.
