I want arrows keys mapped to camera!

Her here! i agree 100%, i used to love playing xi with one hand and thats how i want to play xiv! no reason why kb layout cant be fully customizable, i mean half the keys do nothing to begin with.

The arrow keys themselves can't be mapped to the camera as they're "fixed keys" for moving the cursor around. You can use the arrow keys on the keypad if you leave numlock on, though.

Those are used for movement. The arrow keys control the camera. In FFXI's control scheme that is.

I don't see why we can't just map our controls the way we'd like to.

Why because he wants to play a game with a control scheme he is comfortable with? so we should all play games we dislike? The game can barely stand on it own merit with alot of people so something like an unintuitive control scheme would be enough to keep people from even trying it. unneeded insults do not make you seem more intelligent.

Oh ya some people do like the control scheme, i am fine with it myself as well. It would just be nice if it was a little more customizable because i loved the scheme in XI. It just flowed better for some reason. It would just be nice if they let people play their own way you know.
